Bayshore Hotel

Very good experience, Rooms and Bathroom exceptionally clean. Food was lovely, Staff friendly and very helpful. Would highly recommend Entertainment was ok, attractive position. Well done to all the Staff and Management.Hopefully return in the future.

The Bayshore hotel Sandown Isle of Wight is a wonderful hotel situated right opposite the pier. The staff are friendly welcoming and nothing is to much trouble. The rooms are very clean and and tea coffee milk and sugar are provided on a tray with mugs and spoons and kettle. The entertainment is very good the food is excellent and the roast beef is the best we have ever had and the portions are great Sandown is a little run down further down the front with hotels closed and buyers not doing anything with them the people on the island are very friendly and they have an excellent public transport system for getting about We are returning in October for another holiday

The hotel is right on the front just a non busy road to cross.Rooms high standard clean and comfortable. The evening entertainment is what you expect but when it comes to the food the quality and portions were fantastic but the speed it came out was super fast no waiting

The staff are lovely, friendly and hard working. We were on a coach trip and found meal restrictive, breakfast at 8.00! and half an hour to eat it it, before the next coachfull came in at 8.30, when you lost the attention of the waiting staff, as they move on to serve them. Same at dinner time, 3 course meal in the same time perimeters, found it all very rushed and our tables were squashed together. Our sea view room room was kept very clean with lovely views of the pier. We were staying for 4 nights, first morning shower was an adventure! smallest bathroom I have ever seen and the floorboards creaked so much I felt we were going to fall through the floor! Tepid water in the shower, thought a one off experience, BUT next morning (Friday) no hot water and we did complain first thing, but the handyman did not arrive to the room until 4.30. He said that it needed a new unit, but it was his day off the following day! Hence another cold shower the following day. There was plenty of room in the bedroom to extend the bathroom to a reasonable size walk in shower. I have mobility issues and be aware that the hotel has stairs on every floor, that can not be avoided, as the hotel is situated on a slanted street.

The hotel is very tired and dated. We traveled with Alpha coach trip and were informed that the hotel was fully booked on arrival. We were allocated a breakfast time of 7.45 and tea time 5.45 !! I immediately felt this wasn’t a holiday and I hadn’t even got off the coach. The room we were allocated for my friend and I was very small cramped and uncomfortably hot. The smell of bleach was so strong it burned my throat! The bathroom was very dated, small and the shower tray surround cracked and broken. The view from the small window was a dirty cliff face with rubbish strewn on it directly behind the hotel…. So no view at all. I knew there was no chance of changing room so didn’t bother reporting any of this I gritted my teeth and for the sake of the friends with whom I was holidaying with decided to endure this horrible situation. The pillows are hard. The corridor outside the room smelt stale and had a smell of urine. However, the staff were all helpful and our waitress Roxana was wonderful. The food was varied and ok. The toast at breakfast was always cold and cheap bread. I felt the crockery and cutlery was grubby. We sent a few plates back with traces of old food on them. I feel the hotel is geared up to accommodate the elderly. I certainly felt I was in a retirement home. I left feeling tired and exhausted. Too hot!

Warm welcome by the manager Suzanne on our Alfa coach when we arrived. Staff very friendly and service in the dining room was super efficient. Couldn't fault the food which was very well cooked and tasty with very good choice. The newly decorated room was kept spotless and our Seaview was well worth the extra. A lovely traditional seaside hotel, I thoroughly recommend it.
