Hotel Fischer

We’ve just had an amazing weeks stay at this superb family run hotel. We had breakfast included and the buffet style delights were very tasty. You can also get the some specials from a menu they rotate seasonally. The bar is also brilliant for some night drinks and they show all the live sporting events. The family and staff at the hotel are superb and provide daily updates of events and family run activities. Location is great, just a 20mtr walk to the towns main square. Can’t wait to go back. So relaxing!!

Stayed at the hotel as part of a package tour. Excellent location, great breakfast (letting you take some away for lunch, handy if you are walking up a mountain). Great location with everything in walking distance. Exceptionally good restaurants nearby. Many events take place in the town square which is right on the doorstep. Rooms good. Beds good. Had to ask for a different pillow as don't get on with the feather ones. Replacement was too high so just made the best of it with the feather one. We had corner room with double aspect window/balcony which was nice. The only negative of the week was the cleaning lady. Very grumpy. If you are not out your room by 9 when she wants to clean it then probably won't get done. On the last day we were nearly ready but needed an extra 10 minutes. She huffed and grumbled (in Austrian) and stomped off. Our parting gift of local honey with a nice note was unceremoniously dumped on top of my make - up and the note was all crumpled. I'm sure that wasn't what the management expected. It's a shame how one person can bring the whole team down. Other than this it was a pretty prefect stay.

Great hotel, staff, room, breakfast. Bonus was packed lunch, drinks until 5pm & guest card. Hotel hired me a wheelchair.

The Grander family and team are still offering wonderful hospitality at the Fischer! It had been a long time since I’d visited (c. 15yrs) but they’ve always/are still offering a lovely stay experience, great breakfast and my room was very nice. The whole team (Sinead and Nathan in particular) were so welcoming and great fun in Michi’s bar. We enjoyed watching the Austrian Grand Prix there as well as fun evenings. Thanks again for a great stay, and hope to be back before too long.

My wife and I visited Sankt Johann in Tirol for the last week of June. We stayed at Hotel Fischer and it was a very good choice. Our room, 406, was on the top floor (4) and was large, with a very comfortable bed. Plenty of storage, seating, a table and large bathroom. The shower was prone to splashing water everywhere but we figured out a method. Absolutely cracking view of the square and the beautiful church. TBH, the church bells are quite loud and frequent, but you get used to them. Well, I did! All the staff are very friendly and keen to make your stay a good one. They aim for repeat business and from what we could gather, many of our fellow guests had visited previously so Hotel Fischer has found the right formula. Breakfast was really good, with lots of choice from traditional continental cold meats and cheeses, lots of bread options, fruit, yoghurt, scrambled and boiled eggs, bacon, sausage, etc. They also offer daily special extras such as smoked salmon and avocado on toast at no cost. Proper coffee, too. All good. There is a lively bar called Michi’s that was very popular. Good atmosphere. There is also a steam room/sauna area but we didn’t venture down there during our stay. In terms of the town itself, there are lots of restaurants, cafes and bars, all serving great Austrian beer (check out Das Bier von Hier - the locally brewed Huber) and of course wine. They produce great food from many cuisines. Something for everyone. The town is well placed to visit other parts of the Tirol by train and bus. Salzburg, Innsbruck, Zell am Zee and Kitzbühel are all within reach, as is Munich at a push. The Sankt Johann Guest Card gives free travel on local buses and trains so getting around is cheap and easy. There are also other perks like swimming pool access, a free cable car ride and more. The town also puts on lots of events during the year. All great fun. All in all, it’s a 10/10 for hotel and resort.
