Crowne Plaza Hotels in Sanya

If you're not looking for a beachfront view, Crowne Plaza Sanya City Center offers great value for money. I personally think the location is excellent, right in the city center. It's very close to the night market, First Market, and Dadonghai, making it super convenient for all sorts of dining and takeout options. Attractions within the city like Phoenix Hill and Haiyue Square are practically a minimum taxi fare away. The two duty-free shops in the city, CDFG and Hainan Tourism Duty-Free, are also very close. For places further out, like West Island or the Haitang Bay Duty-Free Shop, it's less than an hour's drive, and you don't even need to rent a car, just take a taxi. Eating at the hotel isn't expensive, and it's not usually crowded. The water pressure in the bathroom is great, making for a very comfortable shower. Our butler, Yuki, was excellent with communication and responsive to all our requests.

On this business trip to Sanya, I wanted to relax over the weekend and experience a few different bays. I chose this well-established, high-value five-star hotel in Sanya Bay. I booked an executive sea-view room on a higher floor, offering an expansive view. The east-facing balcony also provided beautiful sunrise views. However, the beach at Sanya Bay is slightly less impressive compared to Haitang Bay and Yalong Bay, but the surrounding commercial and takeaway options are much better. I won't go into too much detail about the room, but there are a couple of issues to note. First, the room had a somewhat pungent, damp smell, which improved significantly after turning the air purifier to its purification setting. Second, the air conditioning didn't cool as effectively as expected. However, these two problems are common in hotels along the Sanya coast, and considering the price, I'd say it's just about acceptable.

A huge thank you to our butler Sammi, Brother Baiyun and Sister Xigua, Sister Lemon from the activities department, and all the other staff whose names I might not remember! My first visit was during a big typhoon, and my child wasn't too impressed. This time, I brought my husband along, and once again, I'm truly touched by the sincerity of the Renaissance Sanya Resort. It's no exaggeration to say it's the best. I've stayed at many other family-friendly hotels with plenty of kids' elements that my child loved. While the Renaissance Sanya's decor might not be as overtly kid-friendly as, say, the Andaz, their service is incredibly thoughtful. The all-inclusive package means no hidden charges, and even the drone operator is always smiling, even if you don't spend anything – unlike other family hotels that nickel and dime you. Their breakfast and service are truly genuine. For example, for an omelet, they actually have a menu where you can request exactly what you want, with several preparation styles, some I'd never even heard of. It's not like other places where they just fry a big batch and you help yourself. The Renaissance Sanya just assumes you have children, with meticulous attention to all sorts of meals and utensils. Every table automatically has a baby bib and cutlery set out. Even though our child is older now, it's such a heartwarming gesture for parents with little ones. If you pay attention, you'll see it's a truly sincere hotel where 'family-friendly' isn't just a slogan. I believe the company must treat its employees very well to have such dedicated and attentive staff. They are always smiling, always ready to answer questions, and always offering help – every single employee I encountered. I even wondered how a hotel could deal with someone with as many requests as me without anyone ever showing impatience or a bad attitude. They even genuinely follow up to ask if you have any other needs. Staying at a few other hotels really highlights the difference. I will definitely be back, and hopefully, next time I can get an upgrade to a family room, hehe!

This is our second stay at the Crowne Plaza Sanya Yazhou Bay, and the service, environment, and hygiene are still top-notch. The kids' club, in particular, was a huge hit with our little one. Anya provided excellent service too; we were very happy with our room arrangements. They even pre-installed bed rails, so we didn't have to worry about our child falling out of bed while sleeping.
