"Room was pretty clean, i got 7th floor, the view was nice. Everything is work: refrigerator, lights, bath, air conditioner e.t.c. On the 12th floor machine with drinks + sauna Stuff on reception was nice, she speak English, Japanese, Russian Location to be fair a little bit far away from Lake, busses goes pretty rarely. かりんちゃん Bus. Most known shrine is close, but park with a view for a whole City far away, you have to order a taxi to get there quickly if you want. Overall 9.5/10"

"Our staying here was a pure pleasure! And I must say, it exceeded all our expectations! From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive, making the check-in process smooth and hassle-free. The room was spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated, providing a perfect retreat after a long day of exploring. The location of the hotel is fantastic, sarrounded by montains and river. The free shuttle from Chino Station makes getting here quite easy. Enjoying the onsen was a delightful experience, offering pleasure for all your senses: the hot spring water, the sounds of nature, the beautiful scenery. The traditional kaiseki dinner was exceptional! Each dish was thoughtfully prepared, showcasing fresh, local ingredients. The flavors were rich and well-balanced, with a perfect blend of spices. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. Overall, it was a delightful culinary experience that complemented the serene surroundings perfectly! I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking to escape and rejuvenate in nature, have a comfortable and pleasant holiday away from the noisy and crowded big city. "I stayed at this hotel for one night, and overall, it was quite a pleasant experience. I really liked my room — it was clean, modern, and comfortable. The only thing that surprised me was that the window to the balcony didn’t open, though I suppose it was designed that way. The onsen was absolutely wonderful — spacious, relaxing, and with a beautiful view of a mountain river. Definitely one of the highlights of my stay. The hotel also offers many different areas for leisure and entertainment. You can play table tennis, relax in cozy rest zones, visit small cafés and shops — there’s a lot to explore without even leaving the building. Both breakfast and dinner were delicious, with a wide variety of food to choose from. However, due to the number of guests, it was a bit challenging for the staff to manage everything smoothly. On two occasions, someone almost took my table, even though I had already placed the reservation card on it to show it was taken. That said, the staff overall were very pleasant, friendly, and helpful, and I appreciated their attitude throughout my stay. This hotel is clearly family-oriented, with many families staying with young children. There are rooms with child-friendly designs and dedicated play areas, so if you’re looking for a quiet, adult-only atmosphere, this might not be the best fit. That said, I genuinely enjoyed my stay and would consider coming back."

"The resort hotel on the mountain is not very convenient. You must drive by yourself. There is nothing to eat on the mountain. The most important thing is that the hotel hot spring is not in your own store. It takes 10 minutes to walk to the opposite bath. The hotel room is very old and the toilet is small. Older English design."

"I used it this time for climbing with a friend. The staff was also very kind! The kitchen, dining area, washroom & shower room was also quite clean and comfortable. This time I stayed in a Japanese-style room, but it's perfect if you think that there is a kotatsu and you just sleep! Tickets for nearby hot spring facilities (about 5 minutes walk) were also cheaply purchased at the reception! I would like to stay again next time."

"Stayed in March 2024. I have stayed at this hotel many times. This was the first time I booked through Trip.com. The website said it was a one night, two meals plan, but when I arrived at the hotel, I was told it was a one night stay without meals. We argued over the counter, but no one could come to an agreement. I called Trip.com and explained the situation. They admitted that I had booked a one night, two meals plan, but the hotel had received the reservation information from the wholesaler, Rakuten Travel, so I decided to hang up and wait to confirm with Rakuten Travel. When I called back, Trip.com proposed that I pay the hotel for two meals at once, and then Trip.com would transfer the amount later. There was no guarantee that the money would be transferred, and if it wasn't transferred, it would be a loss for us, so it was not a very good idea, but dinner time had already started, so I accepted it. I paid for the meal at the front desk, ate, and sent the receipt to Trip.com from my room. After I told them my transfer details, the amount was transferred the next day, so there was no expense for me, but I hope this never happens again."

"My GF's review: My stay in Meiji Onsen Ryokan was my first stay at a ryokan, and I’ve never felt more welcome at any other hospitality place I’ve been to before, of which there are many. And even after the first day, I am pretty sure it will probably stay this way forever. I am very grateful for your kind welcome and I am amazed at the work that the team of your hotel does at this place. Everything feels natural and beautiful, and the atmosphere is so peaceful and special. People who work here are passionate about their job, and as a passionate person myself I feel energized and happy to see others be so amused about what they do. I will always remember my first stay here and I will compare other ryokans I go to with Meiji Onsen Ryokan, because I feel that it’s the best ryokan in Japan. "This time I am traveling to Nagano County by car with my family. If it is not self-driving, the Little Waterbird Hotel is not easy to reach. Maybe April has passed the ski season. The scenery and atmosphere on the road and around the hotel are deserted. The hotel is said to be renovated soon. So the facilities are clean. Only the stairs on the slope in front of the door are dilapidated. We booked hotel breakfast and dinner. The ingredients are all local fresh products. The cooking taste is acceptable. Because there was only one group of our guests on the day of check-in, we loaned the hot spring to our family to take turns to use it. Generally, there is no problem. Overall, this small hotel has nothing to dissatisfaction and no surprises."
