The Baroness Hotel

The hotel itself is okay at best, good distance from things in Seattle. I assure you it isn't worth it for the lack of amenities and the price. The staff was nice, but definitely understaffed since I had to check out across the street at a sister hotel? in the morning. Payed 219 for a single night, and forced to pay a 100 dollar deposit. Which I think is quite pricey compared to the airport options. Really my biggest gripe is that they charged me the deposit saying there was smoke damage. I don't smoke to begin with, but I'm not dumb enough to do it indoors. No communication I was going to be charged either. I'm not sure if this is some kind of scheme, but it's kind of baffling. I wasn't even in the room for a full 12 hours. I'll update this review after their 'investigation'. Really at the end of the day it's just not worth the headache, hotel deposits are already suspicious.

Nice staff, charming lobby decor. Very clean room. My room was like a suite. Small fridge, stove, microwave, hair dryer, kitchen sink, cupboards, kitchen cabinets, table and chairs, tv, radio alarm clock.Vending machines besides the lobby,laundry services, near bus stops, few restaurants near by. Hospital located across the street. Very Quiet area.

I attended the APEC meeting in Seattle and was looking for a moderately priced hotel that would fit my DSA. Most hotels were priced beyond my daily allowance then, to my relief, I found Baroness Hotel. I am giving it a 5 star because its service is very commensurate to its price. It is not a starred hotel, so, I am not expecting 5-star service and amenities...... The building, the furniture, and the fixture in Baroness are dated. I was expecting the room to smell its age, but to my surprise and relief, there was no old-age smell. When I opened the drawers, the only thing old was the facade. The inner wood was new but the old look was preserved to the missing drawer handle. Amazing...

The area is relatively safe but noisy at night. Getting around by bus can be expensive. If I go again, I will find hotels with walking distance to the Link light rail cause it reaches the airport and many must see areas.
