I booked 'The Whole Hog' room for my husbands birthday. Couldn't fault the booking service at all. The room is really well equipped, everything was ready for when we checked in at 3pm. The hot tub was really warm and lovely. The sauna although not to my taste, my husband thought it was great! As part of the booking I paid for dinner, £35 per person allowance. You did then have to pay for drinks, no problems it is stated at booking. We both order the turkey dinner, which came with a beautifully thick piece of turkey. Everything was cooked really nice. My husband had christmas pudding for dessert which he said was nice but hot! Like it had been microwaved. I had the panna cotta again really nice. Breakfast was also really nice and well presented. Overall we had a wonderful night, the room was comfortable and we slept really well and had a good meal. All staff were really attentive and the place was wonderfully decorated for christmas.

As an avid traveller of 5* hotels and often staying at Rockliffe Hall i decided to book the Impeccable Pig for myself and 2 colleagues our business trip in the NE this time. I enjoy a bit of luxury and good food and we were not disappointed. The staff are so friendly and professional - and we were made to feel so welcome, the rooms are beautiful and very well equipped, and the food simply delicious. My filet steak was melt in the mouth, cooked to perfection and beautifully presented. Honestly I don’t feel the negative reviews are at all justified - you get what you pay for with n life and all aspects are lovely! If you want a cheap fish and chip supper then go to your local chippy, however if you want quality food, excellent service, and good wine then book a room and dinner here and enjoy!

Me and my husband stayed on 10th April to celebrate our anniversary. Between sitting in the courtyard having drinks until our room was ready, to checking out the next day we had the absolute best time! Amazing staff who go above and beyond to help and accommodate. We had amazing service from a young gentleman in the restaurant on the night and from the young lady who checked us in and served us breakfast the next day (sorry we didn’t catch either of your names!). This was our first time visiting and we thought it was pricey but now we’ve been and experienced it it’s worth every penny. The steak from the restaurant was the best I’ve had. Room was spotless, bed was comfy, hot tub in the garden was lovely and peaceful! Thank you for a fabulous stay! We can’t wait return.

An enjoyable stay - the rooms are beautifully designed, spacious and glitzy, with big beds, big TV’s and big, fabulous copper/tin baths. From the outside, the Pig still looks like a run of the mill pub, which it was prior to the 2018 revamp. There are 12 rooms, situated in the coach house behind the main building, with a small, barrier-entry car park immediately adjacent. It’s a smart and well kept set up apart from some shabby, weather-ravaged outdoor furniture which really lets the look of the place down. On a similar note, the in-room TV remote was ham-fistedly patched together with tape. Small details perhaps, but with nightly room rates ranging from £250 to £500, higher standards are assumed. The restaurant/bar is pleasant enough, a contemporary space, with a particularly attractive mezzanine level for private dining. It was pleasing to see that the business still attracts local drinkers, we got chatting to some characterful Sedgefield residents who'd been regulars when it was the Hope Inn. These guys were full of praise for the current staff, and that was our finding too, all of them really friendly (they inevitably are in the North East in my experience). Efficient and conscientious too. Food wise, we had steaks, which were perfectly good. Wines were very palatable too, but one mighty fail was the disgustingly sickly Passion Fruit Martini, which was clearly either from a can or on tap. Just naff. To sum up - a lovely stay, with full marks to the super friendly staff..... but there is room for improvement given the price point.

I was blown away by this hotel and restaurant. We got a deal including room, break and dinner. Never been anywhere so unique and the staff can’t do enough for you. Kimberley, Shauna and Aaron, the whole team are fab. Thanks for a wonderful stay

Stayed overnight for the wife's 60th birthday, took her for a surprise night away on a very reasonable dinner, bed & breakfast deal and what a great choice I made. From the minute we arrived to the minute we left everything was perfect, Room was amazing, hot tub was lovely and warm and very private, evening meal was sublime and the breakfast was stunning. All in all a brilliant stay and would certainly revisit for another stay
