Cbh Hardwick Hall Hotel ★★★★

📍 Hardwick Hall Hotel, Sedgefield

"Overall and excellent choice of Hotel to stay. The rooms are a decent size, the shower is outstanding. It was an easy choice knowing that we would be around nature. As this is an old classic hotel, it comes with lots of character, my kids though it was very posh. The hotel needs a little TLC in places but nothing too serious. We ate the the restaurant and the food and service was excellent. I would stay there again. Note: There isn't a fridge in the room."

"11 of us stayed in 5 rooms. Rooms were clean and tidy. Ideally there would be plugs by the beds for phones etc. It worked out very cheaply for us and was only 5 minutes to Hardwick Hall where we were going to a wedding."

Cbh Hardwick Hall Hotel ★★★★
"First visit and it will not be last. Building is beautiful full of character. Sedgefield is a lovely village. However, the room we stayed in 416 needs soundproofing. When we went back to room on the night there was a loud constance noise like a furnace, on enquiring by staff I was advised room was next to kitchen its the extractor fans going. It did stop after evening service but was woken up early when they were put on again for breakfast and on constant till we checked out. On returning I will be requesting a room no where near kitchen."

The Impeccable Pig ★★★★
"Bit of a mixed review, stayed 2 nights here and had dinner in the restaurant both evenings. The room we stayed in was gorgeous! Very luxurious and decorated to a high standard! Massive bed, massive copper bath in the room, massive TV, massive shower and private hot tub in the outdoor garden space. One thing the hotel REALLY needs to invest in is some soundproofing for the rooms. We could hear everything from the room above us. Hearing someone use the toilet above you is a bit of a mood killer on a romantic getaway! Minibar in the room is extortionately priced! £27 for a 20cl bottle of whisky or gin! Towels and robes were provided but the towels were hard and crispy, They need to use some fabric softener, the robes despite being sized as L were far too small for me, I'm a big guy, usually XL shirt. The TV is not a smart TV so no streaming options, just free view. On our first night the pub was very busy, and loud! Luckily the restaurant is isolated away from the noise of the pub and shielded by... a pair of curtains! So whilst we tried to enjoy our evening meal we were subjected to the drunken revellers shouting and their extensive knowledge of profanity. All of the staff we encountered were great! Friendly, chatty and very amenable to making changes to the dishes on the menu. Service however was slow. Over 10 minutes for drinks to arrive. 10 more for someone to come and take our order. A table opposite who were seated after us, ordered and had their meals infront of them before we did. I had the flat-iron steak with chimichurri sauce. It was cooked well but tasteless. My wife had the chicken supreme which was good. 2nd night service was the same... very slow, I had a sirloin steak, again it was cooked well and to my liking but the chef had massively overseasoned it with salt. My wife had panchetta wrapped pork loin which again was very salty! Breakfast both mornings was good. I had a full English and it was very nice, perfectly runny poached eggs. TLDR. Rooms nice but could be improved. Restaurant staff great when they eventually get to your table, food could be better. Would I stay here again? No. Would I eat here again? Probably not."

Hardwick Arms Hotel ★★★
"I stayed at the Hardwick Arms Hotel and was made very welcome by the friendly staff. The Hotel has a really nice bar with a selection of Cask ales and does food as well, however they weren't serving food during my stay. The rooms in the hotel are clean and well kept, with some endearing quirks (tilted/wonky floors) which only add to the character and charm. I could well imagine that the building was an old coaching Inn back in olden times. The Hotel is close to the beautiful Sedgefield village green. If you're visiting the area, it's a great place to stay, particularly if you're looking for a friendly place to stay and you want a low budget option."
