We booked this holiday at a very busy and stressed time and only after we'd paid did we see the reviews, which said the place was dirty and dilapidated. We were so concerned that we dropped in beforehand unannounced to check it out. The caravan we were shown was absolutely pristine and I have to wonder what kind of people wrote the previous reviews as they were totally dishonest, if not malicious. We had many interesting chats with Dave, the manager, and he and his wife Pam were very helpful and efficient, sorting out any minor problems instantly. The park is small and intimate, which we liked very much - we had privacy on our balcony to enjoy the beautiful weather and yet were close enough to other caravans to chat to other residents. We had our two cats with us and had brought throws to protect the furniture but the park provided lovely tartan ones that brightened up the caravan. Rosie and Coco enjoyed their stay too - they've been timid in other places we've stayed but were interested in everything and even ventured outside, which made us think they were comfortable here. They're real fraidy cats who've burrowed under the beds in other places. The Ettrick Valley is one of the most remote and beautiful places in the south of Scotland and we had a very enjoyable stay at Angecroft.

Cabins looked great, but we had a caravan. Not many left still in use. Most of them looked derelict or deserted. Decor was dated, but the van was clean and spacious. bed was OK but what do you expect for such a reasonable price. Central heating worked but the hot water was intermittent. Freezer was cold enough to freeze vodka but the fridge did not work....after the milk went sour, we ended up just freezing bottles of water and keeping the food in a cool box. Not a problem, and like I said before....it was cheap so I wasn't expecting the Hilton. We had a great time overall, the kids loved it despite the little issues. The terrible reviews I had seen really had us fearing the worst. Expectations suitably lowered, we were pleasantly suprised when Dave who showed us to the caravan. He was also very friendly and welcoming. We paid 300 for 7 days which cheap, the van was simply a base.

My sister and I booked a week in a caravan at Angecroft and then found some truly terrible reviews. We decided to go unabbounced to check the place out as the reviews were so bad. Dave, the manager readily agreed to show us a caravan and it, contrary to the reviews, was absolutely spotless. We have just finished our week there and our caravan was beautifully clean and because we were arriving late, Dave and Pam had put heating and the televsion on which was really welcoming. The park itself is small and wonderfully quiet except for the birdsong which is just lovely. Yes the caravans are not the most modern but they are clean and comfortable and very good value for money, A week which we were dreading after reading the reviews turned into a great week and the night skies alone are worth going for. This is a lovely wee caravan park, run well by Dave and Pam, in a lovely part of the world.

Arrived at the site late due to working so was dark when we arrived. The lodge was unacceptable, we were fully aware it was dog friendly but the smell of dog wee was awful. It also was in need of a deep clean. In the morning when we saw the site, it had old mattresses, old fridges propped up in full view of our lodge, which by looking had been there a while. Not what you expect to see on your holiday park, we left and came home. A waste of money and definitely not worth visiting until refurbishments are done. Very run down and wouldn’t recommend at all.

My kids and I (plus 2 dogs) had a lovely stay here in October. It is very remote but we liked that. Beautiful countryside to drive around. Great walks close by. Had a trip into Selkirk one day and a trip to Hawick on another. The drive to Hawick offered spectacular views, even in the rain. We were happy with our caravan, it was clean enough and warm enough for the price we paid, there’s not much around for such a bargain price and it suited our needs as a getting away from it all. We felt very comfortable here and will likely revisit in the future.

Lovely few days spent here and exploring the area. We loved the peace and quiet of the park and enjoyed watching the birds and rabbits We had read the reviews first so went well equipped with food and drinks. The lodge was clean , furnishings were a bit old and tired but this didn’t bother us. We were there with our two dogs and loved the remote setting of the park. No phone or WiFi wasn’t an issue for us. Was good to be able to switch off for a few days.

An honest review! Booked here despite the reviews, because lets face it you can't form your own time away based on other people's opinions. The reviews i find some abit harsh such as the comments about the owners. We booked a weekend away here for June 2024. Friday to Monday (Today is Sunday) Easy to locate on the Sat Nav. Check in was 4pm we arrived at 4.20pm. This is a small site, privately owned not like the big caravan sites. This appealed to us for a change. A caravan holiday is what you make it, if you want a relaxing time away, you need to spend time planning, the area, places to visit, coffee shops, heritage sites etc and then food and drink, games etc. If you want a big piss up everyday with easy to access entertainment then stick to your Butlins and Pontins. The caravan's on site are about 20 years old. Heating works, electricity works and the Gas. I didnt see a problem. I have had 2 holidays this year so far one with Park Dean and another with Hoseason that has been dirty and disgusting. Angecroft was clean and warm. Yeah abit musty as probably not long opened after the winter season, but not a problem i prepare for everything and took my own bottle of air freshener. Sprayed it every so often. It definately wasn't a dog odour as some comments state x The beds were made up, tea towels and sponges ready for us. Plenty of items to use ie mugs and plates. The owners have a shop for people if they want to buy anything, again i am well prepared so didnt need to disturb. On arrival a lady answered the door and walked us to the caravan, very polite and friendly. When we walked around site to take the dog for a walk she said hello to us. What more do people want? The views are stunning and plenty of walks available. I'd say this caravan site is for mature adults looking for some peace x We had a lovely chilled weekend. No complaints from us!
