"I had a wonderful stay at MouraLua, a charming guesthouse in Sintra. Its convenient location near the Sintra train station made it easily accessible. The cozy living room immediately made me feel at home. The attic room, although small, was sufficient for solo travelers like myself. Visiting during the non-peak season allowed me to enjoy a private bathroom. The clean kitchen, complete with a microwave, was a convenient feature. Communication for check-in and check-out was smooth, with quick responses from the friendly host. Despite arriving early, the host graciously allowed me to leave my bag for a few hours, showcasing their warm hospitality. I highly recommend MouraLua for a comfortable and welcoming stay in Sintra."

"Service: Extremely attentive. Perhaps because there weren't many Asians or because my name is unusual in English, the staff greeted me by name the next morning at breakfast. Facilities: Basically adequate, quite acceptable for a 200-year-old building undergoing renovation, though not comparable to modern 5-star facilities. Environment: It felt like living in a palace, with gardens to explore freely and magnificent public areas. While you'd normally visit a palace and only have to follow a route, here you could explore and go anywhere."

"Excellent hotel overall. I stayed here over the summer for a wedding, everything was spot on. The rooms were clean, the staff were incredible, the amenities were good and the hotel was in a good location, you could easily get a cab and also park a car if you hired one. The breakfast was also not bad. All the staff spoke English and were beyond professional so it was very easy to communicate. The area is okay, there are some restaurants nearby if you wish to walk to one but there aren't any local shops within walking distance. The only negative point I can think of for this hotel would be that you only get a complimentary water on your arrival and then everything else must be bought. In fairness however, this seems to be a Portugal wide theme and not specific to this hotel."

"This is a hostel with shared bathroom and in the progresss of renovation. We spent half hour walking outside the old building and cannot confirm that is the destination I find. The so called free parking is in your own effort to find somewhere provided in the city. Of course we need to pay for parking in this mini tourist city after searching in the town. I searched for hotel and residence with private bath room and free parking when I book a room or apartment, had no idea why this came out. That's the experience we can't manage. First upon the host arrange a roof top room and cannot stand up from the middle to end of the room. Luckily, the host agreed to changed a normal ceiling room for us. The locks of the room and entrance need extra effort to operate."

"We were a party of three families with a mixture of adults, teens and children. We all loved the space and facilities that Solar do Magoito provided. The kids in particular enjoyed the pools, gym, pool table, table tennis, tennis court and even bikes. The pool house was perfect for family meals and parties. As it was the summer, this became the centre of our daily life too. Manuel couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly. He was always available if we needed assistance but was equally unobtrusive when we wanted privacy. The location is perfect for people who like something a little more authentic and private whilst still being within walking distance to a beautiful beach and some local restaurants. As we had decided not to hire cars, we used Uber and Bolt which proved vey easy and efficient. It is also easy to get to Sintra, Cascais and Lisbon ( we found Bolt to be half the price for the latter fare). Manuel is proud of the property and legacy, and rightly so."

"After going to Cabo da Roca, we arrived at the hotel about 45 minutes later. The entrance was not obvious, but there was no problem following the navigation. Very close to the famous Azenhar do Mar beach and sea view restaurants. The staff at Valley House were very kind. Seeing that there were so many of us, they helped us move up the stairs. Breakfast is simple and delicious."

"I actually came here to film a promotional video. But I absolutely cannot recommend this hotel: no welcome guests upon arrival, no explanation about the hotel, leaky windows, ceilings, some areas neglected, definitely showing their age, the men's sauna didn't work, the whirlpool didn't work, the swimming pool has a maximum depth of 90 cm, the room furnishings are very basic, no beach bag provided, not even upon request, hardly any toiletries, no umbrella, no tour of the hotel grounds, not even upon request, and so on and so forth. The breakfast is very good, but the rest is at best a 3-4 star level. In short: if you're out golfing all day and only come to the hotel for breakfast and dinner, then it's okay."

"It felt like we'd arrived at an 18th-19th-century hacienda, judging by the atmosphere, interior, and architecture. It's called a hacienda because it's surrounded by a lush park, a historic area, fountains, peacocks, and the scent of the ocean and forest all at once. Right here on the grounds, there's a medieval site in the form of a stone crater about 3 meters in diameter, where Masonic initiations took place. You can even go inside. The room was authentic and spacious, and at night, ours was asleep. Peacocks, a mother, and six babies were sleeping on the balcony! This is the most incredible hotel we've ever stayed in!"

"This is an accommodation we stopped at on the way from Sintra to Lisbon. As it was an existing mansion or castle that was renovated, the building itself was old, but clean and well-maintained, and the rooms were very spacious, which was nice. I tried breakfast as it was included, and although there weren't many items, everything was delicious."

"The location of this hotel is good with plenty of restaurants within walking distance. We were not very happy that at the 2nd day of our stay there were only a few rolls left at breakfast. The girl in the kitchen is very friendly but she was the only one in the kitchen. The breakfast is being served till 10 am and we came at 9 am. For the 3 of us there were 4 mini rolls and one croissant. Of the fruits, one small slice of melon was left and that was all. We asked for more bread but there was no more. When we wanted to share this with a manager in the hotel, there was no one to be found. Another guest was also quite annoyed because someone promised to help her to book a taxi and she couldn´t find anyone either. We left the hotel by leaving the keys on the outside of the door of our rooms. Quite strange in my opinion....... Unfortunately our least favorite place to stay on our roadtrip through Portugal."

"We booked to the nicest room they had at the property which wsd exceptionally spacious, had a beautiful bathroom, living area and bedroom with terrace overlooking the pool. We really liked the room and the breakfast's were very tasty. It is too bad the pool isn't heated as we couldn't use it the beginning of May when we were there. The other thing that was very odd was that they only gave us 2 coffee pods for the Nepresso machine and wanted to charge 2 Euro's for any additional coffee pods. I think management needs to reevaluate this policy as we have never seen this at any other upscale hotel we have stayed at."
