Beautifully decorated and comfortable. We met Lucy at the bar, who then showed us to our room. They collaborate with the curious Fox for car parking and breakfast which is literally directly across the road. Superbly positioned just on the outskirts of the town centre and right next to the castle. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the bar was cosy, with a log fire and plenty of seats. Overall a fantastic place to stay for a night or the weekend to check out the local beautiful area of North Yorkshire

Amazing stay at the coach House. Everything was catered for ,shower was awesome .we were upgraded. Room was perfect. Bed was so comfy ,tea / coffee supplied even bottles of water. Breakfast was served in the curious fox over the road which was gorgeous,Carol was so lovely and nothing was too much trouble . We had our evening meal there too ,only thing I can say is that the service was a little slow ,but they couldnt apologise enough. It's obviously very popular. Thank you all .Will definitely recommend this hotel and pub .fantastic location. So much to explore from walks to shopping to places to eat and drink Woke up this morning to the church bells ringing, beautiful. Thank you so much it was a well needed break away.

Very well appointed room in an attractive old building, very easy walk to town centre. Room immaculate. Breakfast laid on in the restaurant just the across the road and was well presented and much above average quality. Recommended as an easy and convenient place to stay in a really nice old town.

Stayed here for 2 nights for a birthday treat but unfortunately was disappointed and wouldn't return. Described as a boutique hotel, it just wasn't that! Rooms over a bar is more accurate. No reception when the bar isn't open just a number to ring. We were checked in by Ruby from the bar who was wonderful.lovely bubbly, friendly girl. We booked a deluxe double, it was nice but there was nothing deluxe about it for us. Cobwebs on the ceiling corners and nothing to set it aside from an ordinary double room. Bathroom was nice but broken toilet seat and cloakroom size hand basin doesn't scream deluxe. We had no hot water on morning 1, rang the number and was told the water would be boosted. No hot water again next morning we were leaving so didn't ring I emailed in the hope it would be sorted for the next guests but the email hasn't been aknowledges Very noisy road and single glaze window that rattled meant little sleep Great location for town though! I was a little sceptical about going to the pub for breakfast but don't be! Lovely pub family run I think very friendly service and great food.

The hotel is in a brilliant location, parking is up the road, behind the Curious Fox. The hotel is beautifully decorated and very clean and comfortable. Everything you need is in the room. But our room was on the corner of two very busy roads. Plus the church rings their bells every 15 minutes and the bings on the hour, 24/7. Which means no sleep, as the windows are not double glazed or sound proofed. Also it was quite cold, as the heating wasn't on. Its such a shame that the hotel is fabulous But because of the lack of sleep, We wouldn't return

We arrived Friday afternoon about 2:30 for a wedding the following day. Check in was from 3pm. Ruby was in the bar area and as we looked lost before entering she came out to greet us. What an asset Ruby is, she was so helpful when we were trying to arrange for the key for guests who would be arriving the following day but well before checkin and not coming back to The Coach House until later in the evening. We went to our room to unpack and were immediately impressed by the tea and coffee facilities in the room plus more teas, coffees, milk and toiletries on the landing if you ran out. There was plenty of storage space, about 6 coat hangers in the wardrobe and plenty of drawers. There was a bath with overhead shower, very large shower head and the taps for the bath and washbasin were waterfall ones. 2 bath towels and a hand towel which was plenty for two people for a weekend. The double bed was so comfortable. Another added benefit was usb sockets at either side of the bed and I think there were 4 double sockets. There were only two downsides, the stairs were steep and no railings at the entrance to Ackroyds and the other was breakfast was served at the curios fox across the road, vouchers were included. Would I stay here again? Most definitely yes!

This is a fantastic hotel. Very clean and great value for money. The staff are warm and welcoming. Hotel is located only a few metres away from the town centre but also very quite, combined with the comfortable beds, we had the best night's sleep. Highly recommend and will definitely return.
