Premier Inn Southend On Sea (Eastern Esplanade)

The hotel was situated to where our friends were, and provided a guest car park that's convenient for reaching out to friends as well as other city amenities, shopping and dinning venues. The room's cleanness was mediocre at best, and cleaning was on a per request basis. Lighting setups could be annoying as the overhead lights above the desk/work bench were tied to the main ones, and they should have been replaced with less heat-emitting LEDs. The bathroom ventilation would need enhancement. While we stayed in a room with car park aspect, the sea view rooms offered much better views as seen from the lobby window overlooking the sea, coming with a 10% surcharge.

Staff fantastic!Short staffed (shame on you Whitbread for saving hours when you don’t have to) but they were great!Running around to accommodate all the guests for bfast… What else can they do???? 2 people attending more than 80 guests???? The warmest of welcomes on a freezing night, after attending a wedding in town. Clean, quiet, comfortable room, and was so pleased to have been given a room with a seaview! Very comfortable bed and pillows, as always with Premier Inn. Didn't eat breakfast this time due to plans for the day, but certainly would on another stay. All good and exactly what we wanted. It's a great location too, for anyone wanting the seafront attractions. Can recommend Eastern Esplanade Premier Inn.

We booked a room with a view for my partner's birthday. The room itself was big and quiet nice. The shower was quite weak. We were on the first floor to the side so the view wasn't as good as we hoped. It was a small side window through which you could mainly see the main road. We had our evening meal at the hotel. The food was delicious. Both Mia and Joanne were excellent, a credit to Premier Inn. Friendly, always smiling and great customer service skills. The hotel is a short walk from Southend East train station. When you exit the station go over the bridge so that you're on the other side of the station and it's practically a straight line to the hotel. Very easy to find. Now the bad news. The breakfast was awful. No meat sausages, no promised vegetarian sausages or vegan bacon. Both hot drink machines were not working. The juices had almost run out. Their was no scrambled eggs left when my partner went up to get his breakfast. Everything was cold. Awful. Breakfast was served until 11am and we were there around 10.15 or so. We normally love Premier Inn breakfasts so we were extremely disappointed. Would we stay there again? No, based purely on the terrible breakfast.

Me and my bf stayed for 2 nights and we got no sleep at all due to the constant noise and furniture being moved upstairs and walking up and down till about 2:30am in the morning I sent a complaint email to not even be considered a refund because we did not report it on our stay! I went to reception twice no one at reception it’s past 1 in the morning. No help whatsoever with getting money back so much for a good night guarantee. Would not stay again.

The hotel staff are efficient and friendly, the room was spotless and the beds very comfortable with extra pillows, we slept like logs!.the restaurant was lovely and the breakfast was good quality, plentiful and served by a lovely friendly lady, couldn't ask for any more from a hotel!!
