Premier Inn Southend Airport

Stayed here visiting family. A pleasant stay. Clean room, easy car parking, and helpful staff. Would stay again.

I stayed here for 3 nights whilst working in the area. The hotel itself was clean and comfortable as you'd expect from a standard Premier inn. Unfortunately, I was working nightshifts. There is currently building work going on which resulted in me not being able to sleep, on the few occasions that I went to reception to see if I could get a room on the lower floor there wasnt anyone there. Other than the building work and absence of staff overall the hotel is ok. Free parking on site, Tesco just a few minutes walk and a Beefeater next door.

The sheets are not big enough to tuck in (as mattresses are deep which is lovely) thus getting a very uncomfortable night's sleep as sheets ruche up and there are also no fastenings on the duvet covers which results in the cover separating from the duvet. Very strange and such a shame. The sheets do definitely need changing at the very least so that they fit! The car park was full of very large and other varying sized builders vans & trucks and it was difficult to park safely

The receptionists were very welcoming and could not do enough for us. On arrival they gave our daughter a little welcoming gift which was something and nothing but she loved it. When she lost said gift the staff went above and beyond to ensure it was replaced.

THE POSITIVE : Hotel overall is clean and house keeping staff are polite and happy to help, reception staff are professional and always say hello with a smile. Rooms are as advertised, so they will meet your expectations. Big Tesco across the road and open till 12pm, also petrol station. THE NEGATIVE : If your room is on ground floor then you'll hear the guests above you move around in their room, other than that there's no other noise. The night weekend staff (two men), are either outside smoking , asleep at desk or on their mobile phones with headphones and your lucky if they even look up to acknowledge you. They also don't bother wearing the appropriate uniform, they ruin the hard work that all the other staff do by not making you feel welcome. I've seen the female night staff cleaning windows, hoovering, moping, ironing and emptying the outside bin, these two men do nothing.

Very nice overall, comfortable beds, generally very clean ither then some chocolate wrapping under main bed. There was mould on the ceiling, skirting in the bathroom and around window frame. Extraction fan didn't work in bathroom so guessing that's the reason the all the mould. Overall wouldn't stay at the hotel again just because of the mould...
