Stayed for 2nights on the Thursday and friday before mothers day with my partner for a little break. Overal really nice break staying in a plus room for the first-time. Lovely shower, arm chair, very useful mini fridge and a nespresso machine. Only issue i feel is that i felt a bit uncomfortable asking for additional pods as was unsure if the pods are treated the same as the nescafe sachets, teabags, sugars in reception or whether you only get 4 pods per stay. We had a meal deal at brewers fyre the first night, expecting 2 course dinner, drink and unlimted buffet breakfast, but this NOT the case. We were not advised that southsea premier no longer offers a buffet breakfast every day as the adverts suggest, but provide a Made To Order breakfast Monday to Friday and ONLY offer a buffet on the Saturday and Sunday. If we had of been advised this when checking in on Thursday we would not have bought the meal deal. The evening meal was really nice, but having communual sauce (ketchup and mayo in a large casserole dish you serve yourself) rather than a bottle is really poor i think and not the most hygienic. Breakfast however was really disappointing as I mentioned above as we were unaware that they (Southsea premier in) do not provide a daily buffet anymore Monday to Friday. We got our coffees sat down with some pastries and within 2 minuets Des (i guess floor manager) came bounding over, said so fast good morning, are you ready to order, ladys first do you want fried, scrambled or pouched eggs...i just stared and then said were not actually ready yet and then he said oh ok ill give you a couple of minutes then. I thought it was really unprofessional and too intense for friday morning at just before 9am. There are no menus anywhere to see what was available. So we had to go onto the premier in website to read off the menu what was available and then was prepare when another woman came over 3 minutes later (no word of a lie). What came out was not the usual breakfast we remember but a small, cool to luke warm, breakfast. Not a made to order breakfast piping hot. We speculated that they probably have just moved all the buffet style hot plates to the kitchen area and are dishing the breakfast up from there but behind closed doors in the kitchen counting out extactly what was requested. Im surprised the baked beans are counted out to the exact bean to "save of wastage" as Des had said. The stay was good, but would maybe opt out of breakfast or meal deal monday to friday.
