We spent one night in a corner room (107) the room was fairly large with direct access to the pool. We are a family of two adults and three children and asked for an extra bed to be put in the room, on arrival we found a 2-inch thick mattress with a sheet laid on the floor beside one of the beds when we complained about it as we had been charged an extra 400 Baht for the extra bed a lady brought a bed base and put the mattress on it. The room we stayed in a couple of years before was 1,800 Baht before but now we were charged 3,500 Baht which I thought was a totally unreasonable price increase. When we stayed here before the pool had some tiles missing from it and I thought it was a hazard then, I assumed a couple of years later the problem would have been resolved but I was surprised to see It was actually worse, there were many tiles missing from the sides as well as the floor of the pool creating a substantial hazard to people using the pool. I, unfortunately, cut my toe on my left foot on the edge of a tile!! The breakfast is ok but missing western foods, and milk for coffee, they have only dried cream powder. Luckily I had some fresh milk in my room . All in all, I would say it is expensive and not really safe for kids to swim and I probably will not return until these problems have been resolved

I only made this place average because that fact is it does not have a lift. It was roughly forty steps up to the room lugging a bag up. The rooms here are quite small however ok for an overnight stay. I would commend the hotel on its cleanliness and comfort too with the bed. I had a good nights sleep here and didn’t notice any noise in the night, however in the morning I realised there was a lot of noise filtering into the room as other guests were leaving and as the cleaners started so don’t expect a lay in even though the check out is at midday. It has a small room offering a cofffee service however your better off wandering up or down the road to find a a breakfast. Parking was easy when I got here at two, however looks quite limited if you were a late arrival. They also wanted a 300 baht refundable deposit. Overall it was value for money and pretty central for most things in Nong Khai.

CC4P741NWhite double bed, soft, good pillow, a little hard, soap, toothbrush, towels, 2 pieces each, with a water heater. Small refrigerator Shaver dressing table, sink, wardrobe, en suite bathroom, shady atmosphere There is also a resting point outside the room. Breakfast is pan egg with coffee. In the evening, you can order food to order. There is a small cafe at the entrance, good service staff, polite, friendly. During winter, the weather is very good. Almost no need to turn on the air conditioner. The accommodation is about 6-7 kilometers away from KKU University, Nong Khai Campus. Recommended. Very quiet.
GGuest UserLocation/ about a 10–15-minute walk into town along a promenade on the banks of the Mekong or there is generally a tuk-tuk waiting outside the front of the hotel Room/ was comfortable enough with a fridge, safe and bathroom with walk-in shower but lacked finishing touches and attention to detail. Safe wasn’t working initially but soon rectified, only one chair on balcony for 2 people, bathroom door difficult to close, one key card for 2 people, house keeping not great, screws sticking out of walls etc etc Breakfast/ the best thing at this hotel is the food. Excellent buffet breakfast with really friendly service, served 6.30am to 10am, always plenty of it enjoyed either in the very nice breakfast room or outside on a terrace. Egg station cooking eggs to order 4 different ways. General/ lots of secure off-road parking down the side of the hotel and behind. The rooms are in 2 separate blocks adjacent to each other with pool containing fish and seating area between them. Check out the Sky bar on top of one of the 2 blocks. Opens at 3pm and serves good selection of food at reasonable prices with great views over the town, the Mekong and into Laos beyond, great for sunsets. Would I stay here again? Yes, due to location, breakfast and Sky bar

GGuest UserBooked and stayed here with Agoda. Decided to stay here as it was a little more expensive than surrounding hotels. Reception area clean and coffee available. There is a lift to all floors. Room was clean and a little dated. Coffee and water supplied. Bathroom small and needs refurbishment. Door to bathroom would close. Not many power points. 1 at side of 1 bed and 1 near door. Noise from other rooms can be heard. Breakfast was as expected and fair.

TTW2024Booked a room with lowest price. Got room 17. The Guesthouse is right in front of the riverside and next to the Walking Street. Old room with shared bathroom where hot water didn’t work. When I informed them, the lady immediately came to check. Will take time until they can fix that. I showered in another shared bathroom. The photo I posted is the area in front of the guesthouse. Very beautiful!

GGuest UserWe travelled up to Nong Khai for the recent balloon Festival and had a room booked at the Royal Nakhara Hotel. As we drove in to the hotel car-park, we were impressed from the outside. Check-in was quick and easy and when we entered our allocated room, it was obvious that the décor and furnishings were a bit tired and dated - but not a problem. However, as we looked around at the room and amenities we noticed several things to disappoint us. First, we saw an enormous birds nest sat right on top of the aircon unit outside on the balcony. The balcony doors were locked (with no key) so we could not even go onto the balcony, but as the view from the balcony was of surrounding metal factory roofs, we had no great urge to go onto the balcony anyway. Walking around the room and bathroom we noticed quite a lot of long black hairs on the floor, obviously from the previous guests and when checking out the bathroom, noticed toothpaste stains and splashes all over the washbasin mirror above and, human defecation waste around the rim of the toilet basin. It was obvious that the room had not been cleaned to a sufficient standard for the next guests. We really did not feel comfortable to stay here and notified the front desk, where a member of the management team and the housekeeper came to check on our findings. After showing them what we were unhappy with, the two members of staff went into the bathroom to discuss it but we could hear them talking and were shocked to hear that they thought we were making a fuss over trivial things. We decided that we were not comfortable to stay in the hotel any longer and asked to cancel the booking and we would find an alternative hotel. The staff initially refused to cancel the booking, then agreed, but said we would need to wait 15-30 days to receive a refund, which was not acceptable, considering that payment had been made instantly when booking the room. After further discussion and upon our insistence, the hotel did refund us the cost of the room and we sought to find alternative accommodation. We have no problem with a room being tired or dated, but that is no excuse for it not to be clean also, and the attitude to our concerns we heard being discussed (”its just only this, its only that”) were simply not acceptable for a service industry facility.
GGuest UserOne of the finest resort in Thailand! Beats the Failed Marriott Surawongse hands down in terms of Welcoming, Services from the Heart and Accommodating to guests needs! The breakfast is delicious and impressive. The owners are modest, friendly and great people! I stayed in the stand alone bungalow and exclusivity is fantastic! This is the true 5 stars hotel NOT the Marriott Surawongse!
GGuest UserGo with your children and play in the pool. There are breakfast facilities provided. Soft bed, cool air conditioner The shower has good water flow. But the problem is that the electricity is fast and slow. The mattress has some stains. There are only disadvantages to this, but if you compare the cost of accommodation, it's worth it.
