We had an amazing stay at S Villa Ha Long! The villa is beautifully designed with a modern and cozy vibe, perfectly located just a short walk from the beach. The rooms were spotless, spacious, and fully equipped with everything we needed. The area is peaceful and ideal for relaxing, yet still close to cafes and restaurants. The host was incredibly kind and responsive — we truly felt taken care of. Highly recommended and we’d love to come back!

Loved it the moment we stepped in. Chloe Vu from reception had been most helpful. Love the personalised service for cruise booking & transportation arrangement from concierge Ahn-Tran, very clear information and reply almost instantly. Emily from the restaurant has been endearing. Staff have good knowledge about the hotel, and it’s a smart AI infused hotel (sometimes even too smart!). All room faces the ocean and love that the hotel has its private beach. The hotel is very new (opened Aug 2025), so all staff are very willing to listen to feedback, and escalate info very quickly as case learning, which is encouraging to know. The hotel provide half-board and full-board option (we took the half board), so totally stress free where we should go for dinner after a long day at the cruise! I want to go back almost immediately. Next time I will take the full board option so that I can enjoy this hotel much much more.

This hotel is amazing!My room had a stunning view, a pool on the roof, which my children loved, and an even better view. The staff was very welcoming, I can say that they do everything to make it happen to keep the client happy.I want to mention the man at the reception by name Trun Duc Trong. I am definitely glad that I chose this hotel and I will definitely recommend this hotel to everyone. It is a 15 minute walk to the sea, there are no people on the beach, it is just paradise. I spent a long time choosing between hotels, and chose this one based on the price, I decided that I would rather spend more on entertainment than on a hotel. And I am simply delighted that for such an inexpensive the price, the hotel is simply 5 stars.I am sure that if you diversify your breakfast menu to a more varied one, you will become even better.

The room was genuinely spacious, over 40 square meters. I stayed in a city-view room on the 30th floor, offering an expansive view. It's close to the beach, and the surrounding area is quiet. The elevator requires a key card to access your floor directly, which takes a bit of getting used to. There was an induction cooktop and a washing machine in the room, but we were told they couldn't be used. A particular issue was the hot water, which wasn't continuous; if you showered for too long, it would run out, which I found perplexing. The cleanliness and service were otherwise acceptable.

We stayed at Oakwood Ha Long for two nights as a family of eight and had a very pleasant overall experience. The villa felt luxurious and spacious, making it ideal for a larger family group. The property itself is well maintained and the facilities were impressive — we especially enjoyed the gym, the breakfast spread, and the efficient luggage handling which made check-in and check-out smooth. One area that fell short was the water provision. Each villa (with four rooms) receives only two bottles of water per room per day, and any additional bottles are chargeable. Given the hotel’s five-star positioning and price range, this felt unnecessarily restrictive and not quite in line with expectations for this level of hospitality. Overall, it’s a comfortable and upscale stay with great facilities, but small touches like more generous complimentary water would significantly improve the guest experience.

Unfortunately, we couldn't check in earlier; the room wasn't ready until shortly after 2 p.m. A very nice apartment, large and clean, with everything you need. The beach is unfortunately still empty and unserviced, but it's a great location if you want to start a cruise from here. The view of the sea and the city is just as beautiful as the rooftop bar that's part of the building.

I can't say enough good things about this hotel other than it is by far the nicest hotel we have ever stayed in in our life!!! The hotel is absolutely gorgeous! Everything about it is just such high quality we couldnt believe it! Probably the first time I have wrote a review while still staying at the hotel I am that impressed! Before we even stayed AnAn was so kind she let us move our booking as we had visa issues which from the start surprised me. Every single staff member is just above and beyond in kindness. I don't know how the manager has managed to put together such a great team. The play room is perfect for our child. The pool upstairs is from another planet. It's amazing. We would never expect something like this at the price point we payed. But then I guess it's that price for a reason as there is construction outside but that's not the hotels fault so you can't bash them for that and especially at the price point they are charging. They are doing there best with the hand they have been dealt. I would easily recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in ha long. Just bring ear plugs so you can get a great sleep like I did. It's definitely worth the tradeoff!!! Oh another random note, the lifts are probably the best designed lifts we've seen too! No waiting, insanely fast! Kudos tho whoever did that, also the bathroom is stunning and also bigger than all but one of our rooms at home. A huge thank you to Mui too she is the loveliest lady and done an amazing job on our room every day!

The booking does not include transfer which you need to pay separately. The food served on board is delicious and all are served by course except for lunch on day 2. Drinks (exclude water from water cooler) need to be purchased but the price is reasonable. The tour is fun and the guide/manager share a lot. The staff is very friendly too. They also arranged for surprise e.g. upgrade our room to suite and decoration as it is honeymoon trip. Definitely recommended. As for the transfer, the ride is comfortable but, the driver has attitude problem. If you did not give tip on your journey to halong bay, he will switch off free WiFi n charging port on our return trip.

The first stop in Vietnam, very good. First of all, the front desk guy (Xin) communicates smoothly in Chinese, and he is very nice and enthusiastic! Second, the hotel is non-smoking, which is very friendly to young ladies traveling with children or those who don't like the smell of smoke. Third, the internal facilities of the hotel are reasonably set up, and the supporting facilities have Chinese prompts! The room layout is comfortable! I will consider Royal Halong Hotel next time!

The location in that city I think is very good regarding sea view, some restaurants outside and you are very close to the ships leaving (it depends what you want... if you like City-like stay, you have to choose ankther locations but I think anyway the places are not so far away and easy to get everywhere (ok maybe in main season not so easy) The hotel gave me immediately an upgrade, teh room was extremely big, clean ,the view very good. All you need, and breakfast was also okay. The only thing: there's an open disco 1 km away, very very loud still.. so I went to that place to check (in anger) but I found out: actually a nice place to visit, sitting outside at the beach hahaha so not that bad. Tip: regarding the ships, they all folow the same route and stop at same places, but have very very differing prices ..
