The view of the sand dunes from the rooftop was beautiful. The common areas were also stylish and relaxing.

"The boss and his family are very nice. There is a free airport pick-up service. Our flight was delayed, and they asked for the flight number and waited for us at the airport. "As a backpacker who has traveled around in the past two years, this youth hostel is basically a good choice for you to stay in when you travel to Dunhuang. After leaving the train station, I stood in the square and browsed various hotels and youth hostels on Ctrip. Finally, I decided on He'an Tingfeng. The bedding was comfortable, the bathroom was clean, the air in the room was good and there was no odor. There was also a small table, a washing machine that could wash clothes other than underwear, and provided laundry detergent and a drying area. There was also a small dog named Xiaobai, who happily wagged his tail to greet me before I even reached the front desk."

"The hotel is a B&B with a small venue, but the owner is enthusiastic and the service is also very good. The standard room we stayed in was Japanese-style with tatami, clean and hygienic. Everything was disposable, including the bath towels and face towels, which I personally like very much ❤️It is about five or six hundred meters away from Mingsha Mountain and can be reached on foot!"

"[Location] Near Mingsha Mountain and Crescent Lake, within walking distance. There are also breakfast, lunch, dinner, barbecue, etc. nearby, so the eating problem is easily solved.
[Service] The young man and lady at the front desk are very young. They take the initiative to help with luggage, share tips for traveling in Dunhuang, and can also help with tickets for the one-day tour of the west line, stage plays, etc. I bought it on the bus from the airport to the city, so I didn't book it at the B&B. Otherwise, I think Qiusha can solve the needs of Dunhuang tourism in one stop!
[Environment] It was the most comfortable day of the nine-day trip. You can see from the pictures that I lined up from the small courtyard of the B&B all the way to my room, which is enough to show my love, hahahaha. But one thing to note is that because it is very close to Mingsha Mountain and Crescent Lake, most of the tourists who come to stay here will go to Mingsha Mountain and Crescent Lake for fun. The concert with tens of thousands of people ends at 10 pm, and it is usually 11 pm before people come back to wash up and chat and go to bed. "This homestay is the most cost-effective one we have lived in since the Qinggan Dahuan Line! The price is right, very close to Mingsha Mountain Crescent Spring Scenic Area, you can walk to it. There are restaurants around, you can also order takeaway, very convenient, Hu Yang noodles are delicious. Very clean and hygienic, disposable towels, bath towels and mineral water are provided, there are drinks and souvenirs at the front desk, very convenient, and there is a large map of Dunhuang for travel reference. The boss is very good! Very talkative little brother, introduced us to the attractions in Dunhuang, took the express delivery and sent us to the scenic spot hahahaha, another brother also sent us water when checking out, great! When staying in the wilderness, the first thing is to look at the scenery. The scenery of the desert hills is not to mention. Although it is at the foot of the mountain, it is still refreshing.
It’s also great to take photos in an open space. They gave us guidance on how to take pictures of the starry sky and provided a mobile phone holder. It was great. PS. If you come here, be sure to ask the housekeeper or the boss for a candlelight lantern (the store will provide it for free). The atmosphere for taking photos is great. Got it
In terms of meals, we ordered a barbecue from the store and ate on the terrace of the room (four people can sit on it, and if more than four people eat on the sand below the terrace)

GGuest UserThis hostel is really lovely. The owners are so friendly and helpful. There are a lot of personal touches in the common areas, especially in the large sitting room. There’s space for washing and drying clothes, as well as filtered water available. I had a room with private bath, that was nicely appointed with lots of thoughtful details. I would certainly stay here again!

GGuest UserThe good impression of Dunhuang started when the store owner answered my call. He was very enthusiastic to help us book tickets for ”See You Again Dunhuang”, helped us book a taxi for the pick-up station 🚖, and organized us to watch the moon together at night. The store owner is a photography enthusiast with a big golden retriever 🐕. He lent us a cowboy hat and Rose to take pictures at Mingsha Mountain. The point is: the homestay is only a few hundred meters away from the middle gate of Mingsha Mountain, which is super close to satisfy us to watch the sunrise and sunset of Mingsha Mountain.

GGuest UserGreat atmosphere. The tent/bedding was much cleaner than expected despite being in the middle of desert . The heater works well. The owner took his time to take great care of us (noted that we didn’t go during high-season); very service-minded. He took us to/from airports and different tourist spots. Also provided us with many additional activities (not excluded in the initial program of camel riding) such as ATV riding, sand hill sliding, firework. The hotpot/grill dinner was delicious! Overall we were very impressed with everything.

GGuest UserI saw the vineyard when I selected a homestay online, so I quickly contacted the owner, who was very enthusiastic and met me at the station. You know how happy it is to have someone meet you at the station when you go out with the elderly and children🥰
The sanitation is super clean, and the family is very capable. You can eat at the inn, and the owner's mother cooks for you herself. The vegetables are grown by herself, and you can pick grapes when you leave the room. Every time I come to the Qinghai-Gansu line, my mouth gets blisters, and I count on coming here to supplement my vitamins! All the meals we had at the B&B were very delicious. The children ate until they were full every day, and the eggs were very, very big.
The boss helped me contact Dunhuang for the A ticket. Although the peak season had passed, it still needed to be booked a long time in advance. I contacted the boss only one day in advance. He actively helped me with various plans. He was very enthusiastic and patient. It was a lucky trip. I watched two performances in a row, ”See Dunhuang Again” and ”Music of Dunhuang”, both of which were very exciting. You can contact the owner to buy tickets and get discounts. I have recommended it to friends who are going there soon. If I have the opportunity to come to Dunhuang next time, I will definitely stay here again.

GGuest UserThe last stop of Zhejiang's self-driving Northwest Great Ring Road, a very pleasant stay, convenient parking, clean and hygienic. It’s also convenient to walk to the middle gate of Mingsha Mountain. There are many special delicacies downstairs, and my wife and daughter were also very satisfied with the flying photos taken in the ”Nayu Flower Room” downstairs of the B&B. Bargaining cantaloupes on the roadside for four for ten yuan, super sweet!

GGuest UserFrom the exterior the Dunhuang Jiayuan Hotel looks like a traditional Chinese hotel. But the room is furnished with all the modern trappings that are so essential to a weary traveler. The bedroom and attached bathroom are very clean, hot showers readily available and the bed comfortable.
The hotel is right next to the Shazhou night market and within walking distance to all the transportation hubs which makes visiting Dunhuang attractions easy.
And the service team was fantastic. One and all they were approachable and very helpful. The lovely lady who checked us in not only upgraded our room but she even managed to get us seats on a Western Dunhuang tour which was one of the highlights of our already amazing trip!
Another recommended local dishes for us to try and we were amused to see the name of one such restaurant on a road sign!
In short we love Dunhuang Jiayuan Hotel. Thank you lovely ladies for making our stay there a very satisfying one 👍

GGuest UserThe boss was very enthusiastic. I contacted him one day in advance and waited for us at the station early the next morning. The accommodation was close to the East Gate. We said we were going to Crescent Lake and Mingsha Mountain. The boss took the initiative to drive us to the Middle Gate, saying that we could save 20 yuan on the shuttle bus fare. The next day, we signed up for a tour group to go out and play. The boss also sent us to the boarding point early in the morning. The boss was afraid that it would be inconvenient to go back after the Crescent Lake Music Festival, so he also came to pick us up, making our travel very convenient. The accommodation environment is also very good, and the steamed bun for breakfast is particularly large.

TTravellerBobStayed for two nights. The value for money was good. The hotel itself is not very clean and a little outdated, but the linen was clean, and the bed was comfortable. The window of the room did not close properly, and the nights were very cold, with 16°C inside the room. Because the windows did not close, a lot of outside noise was heard at all hours (there was an outdoor street piano that people played at all hours of the night). The room was also very small, with no space for placing luggage or anything. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
