"We stayed at Hotel Monopoli for a few nights and had a mixed but overall decent experience. The location is definitely a plus, situated in Kemang and close to business areas, it’s convenient for both work and leisure. However, one thing we didn’t anticipate was that the hotel is also a nightlife spot. At night, the sound from karaoke, dancing, and loud music was quite noticeable, which might not suit guests looking for a quieter stay. It only last until around 2AM, and might be enough as a white-noise for some people.
Breakfast was okay. On weekdays, they offer a set menu which we really appreciated — it was more curated and enjoyable. On weekends, they switch to a buffet style (perhaps due to higher occupancy), but it was a bit average. That said, in general, the food at the hotel was good.
Housekeeping was attentive, they checked in every morning, and when we requested cleaning only while we were out, they followed through without issue.
We arrived late at night after a long journey from Bangkok and Johor, and were a bit surprised by the number of terms and conditions — for instance, no hotel sandals allowed in the lobby and other small rules. While understandable, it felt a bit restrictive to be met with so many dos and don’ts right after arriving.
That said, the staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Indonesian hospitality really shines here, and we appreciated their warm service."
