Nice hotel. Karuizawa Outlet is in a walking distance. But had to take the bus to ski area. The west ski area did not open at the time we stayed. The front staff was not that freindly. No power plug adapter for borrowing. When comparing to the price, it not worth it. The good thing is the location, that’s it.
Hotel breakfast was awesome, the staffs were very nice, much nicer than front staff.

Location is great, free shuttle bus between station and hotel. Also easy to get to the outlet. Breakfast is highly recommended, can choose between Japanese and western one, both are delicious. Nearby is the ski park, can enjoy whole day skiing there. Onsen is great after whole day exercise, quickly relieve tiredness. Highly recommended!!

The food quality of the Spanish set dinner and breakfast was excellent and beyond our expectation. All the staff including front desk and restaurant were very friendly and hospitable. The location is convenient and walkable from bus station or to the shops, the rental of bicycles was included in the room rate. Many places are accessible by bicycles and kind of convenient to cycling around. The free flow drinks and snacks was a very kind gesture and face masks were very thoughtful room amenities for the dry weather. I would highly recommend this hotel and look forward to next visit soon.

We had an amazing 2 nights stay here! Located about 5 minutes short walk from the train station, there were a convenience store and small supermarket directly across the hotel.
We weren't expecting much when we booked as the photos look dated and it was a last minute trip but oh mine, we were pleasantly surprised when we checked in. The room was large and although it was the old room, it had a certain charmimg character to it that we love. The bathroom was also big, clean and had a lovely large bathtub. I love the full range of toiletries they provided and was hoping to buy it in Tokyo to bring home but I couldn't.
There was a common area on the second floor where water, juice and coffee were provided and we bought our own sake in the evening and sat there. We spent two peaceful evenings here after dinner and it was lovely.
Our only complaint was the bed was rather soft and the pillows were flat. But we will definitely stay here again when we come back to Karuizawa.

This hotel is a bit remote to those not driving . But the rate is very reasonable and by taxi is short distance to everywhere near train and outlet for shopping n food . The hotel restaurant for dinner is very good with live music and cost is very reasonable with good service . But you need to do reservation in advance . There is a big supermarket a few steps away that you could buy fresh produce to cook simple meal in your room’s kitchen . The public pool is sufficient and cleanliness is fair . Overall a value for money hotel .

I stayed at this hotel with my wife and two children during a two-night trip to Karuizawa in early February. The hotel is around 100 years old and its claim to fame is that John Lennon has stayed there. The piano that he played on is still in the bar.
Location: The hotel is near Old Ginza Street and around a 15-minutes drive from Karuizawa station. It was not difficult to find, but you must navigate a narrow approach to the hotel which is icy at this time of the year, so you must drive carefully.
Cleaniness: The staff told me that the hotel was only recently and everything was very clean and in good condition.
Service: The receptionist that conducted the check-in was probably the Japanese that spoke the best English that I had encountered on this trip. He spent a lot of time explaining the hotel to our family. The porter was also very helpful and polite. When we asked for extra toothbrushes and slippers for the children, housekeeping was very prompt in delivering them and even brought some children's robes for my sons.
Facilities: The hotel did not have many facilities. There is a small shop, a bar and a french restaurant but not much else. Some rooms had private hot springs in them and they gave us the opportunity to upgrade. Our room, had a small balcony even though we were on the ground floor. It looked onto a wooded area so there was not much to see, especially at night. However, when it snowed the next morning, my kids loved going out and playing in the snow. I was particularly impressed by the breakfast. It was a simple American breakfast very well presented. It was very pleasurable to look out into the inner courtyard with it was snowing.
Overall: I like this hotel as it has a lot of character. It is architecturally attractive and has kept a lot of its charm despite renovation. The staff are very professional and polite. I would stay in this hotel again.

I just couldn't book any other hotels near this hotel, and the one that Ctrip upgraded me to was pretty good overall:
First of all, it's in Jinjingcheng. The appearance of the hotel itself is static, but this hotel has a feature that it's relatively old.
It's a typical British style. This kind of older hotel, although it's more elegant, always gives people the feeling that it's not so clean and hygienic. This is a small shortcoming, but overall it's pretty good. The style, everything is OK. If you're on vacation, you can stay for a day

Met with welcoming and good service staff, start of a great 2-night stay. The breakfast, Japanese and Western were appetising.
There are 2 routes to the hotel by car, both will have narrow and winding country roads at certain stretch to and from the hotel. Can be intimidating drive in the night especially when the days are short from November onwards.

The hotel is located on a remote mountain, more than ten minutes from the center. The rooms are a bit far away, but fortunately they are clean and hygienic, and the space is very sufficient. The most special thing is that you can use the small cable car to go up to the hot spring area. What is surprising is that the hot spring area has a very good environment and scenery. Beautiful, the spring water is very comfortable

GGuest UserBeautiful environment, very clean and comfortable, complete kitchen facilities, outdoor barbecue equipment, complete tableware! It’s a pity to stay for one night. Our family decided to stay here next time we go to Karuizawa!
NNAI am very happy to book this traditional Japanese hotel full of warmth. The hotel is very retro and has a sense of historical precipitation. It feels warm and warm when you walk in. It is a very traditional Japanese hotel. Although the alms are a bit dated, the environment is clean and the service staff is enthusiastic. The hotel is conveniently located at the end of the commercial street of the old Karuizawa. The hotel has its own hot spring, but we do n’t have time to soak, but we used the bathrobes and socks in the hotel because we do n’t know how to wear them. After talking to the front desk, they also called an elderly service staff to help We wore a yukata and tied a beautiful bow. We also dressed beautifully to eat their kaiseki dishes, which tasted great, but the girls really enjoyed the set meal, especially wearing kimono and tied It's too tight. Sleeping at night is also very quiet, quiet in the middle of the night, anyway, you will choose to stay next time. In addition, the autumn of Karuizawa is really beautiful!
DDuolachenI have been in a small hotel for 6 years but it is very new and warm. The room has a humidifier, air conditioning is silent, there is unlimited drinks, coffee and tea, and all facilities are very good. Please contact Trip.com to pick up the high-speed rail and send the high-speed rail service. You can store your luggage at the station and play outlet and town. The hotel also has a supporting restaurant, which is good for food, lodging and transportation.
GGuest UserThere are only three separate rooms in the whole hotel. When I found out that only we stayed on the day, Check-in was very simple. After getting the key, I entered the house with only Huahua sound. Every place in the house was a punching position. The kitchen utensils are very complete and very tidy, and cooking is difficult. The environment outside the sunrise house in the morning is also very beautiful. Six people stay in the perfect place. After skiing, go back to the house and talk wine with friends - stream, and will definitely live again.
