If you’re looking to escape the hurly burly of life, then this is the perfect getaway. Set off a remote single-track road, a 15-minute walk from the north-east bank of Loch Lomond, these two holiday cottages have everything you need for that escape. Beautifully furnished, with a big comfy bed, sofa, kitchen area, shower room and satellite TV, your every needs are catered for. Outside there’s a hot tub and sun beds and there’s a summer house equipped with drinks and food which serves as an “honesty” cafe. There’s Wi-Fi but it only works from the summer house, called The Kelly Kettle, after the friendly and helpful owner, Kelly, who can deliver breakfast and slow cooker meals. The cottages are on the site of a historic garrison, the remains of which are adjacent and it’s an ideal spot if you enjoy a good long walk. There are no crowds here - and your main company will be nature. Garrison of Inversnaid is accessible by one route - a 20-mile drive along a narrow, single track road. You can dine at the Bunkhouse, five minutes walk away, which provides excellent Scottish fare. It’s a five minute drive or a marvellous 45-minute walk along a pleasant mountain path to the Pier Cafe at Stronachlachar. We spent two nights here but on leaving decided it’s definitely worth a little longer. Thank you, Kelly.
