As always I'll rate the hotel I stayed at relative to the cost incurred. So is it value for money?
Location : The location could not be bettered. It is the closest hotel to the Mati Grottoes. Maybe a 500m walk away.
Service : Very good, very friendly ! Welcoming and efficient on arrival. Took food orders for delivery at lunch and dinner (which helped a lot as in Winter all the restaurants in the village were closed)! And also helped me buy snacks in the afternoon (as the usual stores in the village were closed during Winter).
Bedroom : Basic however with 2 beds (comfortable and clean) and a I really liked the sunny alcove with two seats and a table, to sit and drink tea/coffee (bring your own!).
Bathroom : small but most importantly hot water and plenty of it ! The toilet is Western style not a squat (phew - good for my old knees!)
Breakfast : was provided but as I don't often eat breakfast I can't comment further.
You shouldn't expect a 5 star hotel, it's a basic Chinese hotel so don't get expectations up, however it is great value for money, clean and has everything you'd need for a short stay. I would definitely stay here again !

We had rooms with snow mountain views. The rooms were nicely decorated and came with floor heating. The grottoes and scenic area is also very nice to visit.

Very helpful and friendly. The hotel is in a very good location with magnificent views of the mountains. We slept very well and felt comfortable.
Breakfast is served in a separate building a few doors down, but the food was not particularly suitable for us Europeans.

Our room was on the first floor, which offered less privacy. The bathroom was small, and the showerhead leaked, but there was an overhead shower. The hot water wasn't 24/7, so if you took a long shower, the next person would have to wait.
Guests can gaze at the stars below the Thirty-three Days Grottoes at night. In the morning, the owner takes them birdwatching, watching the sunrise, feeding marmots and blue pheasants, and then being among the first to enter the grottoes, skipping the line.

This B&B was a great experience! Clean, hygienic, and reasonably priced. In the morning, the owner took us to see the cute wild animals, including marmots, blue pheasants, and hares. Afterward, we went on a 33-day hike, which was a great escape, as we didn't have to wait in line. The kids were so happy! We finished at 8:00 AM and were back for breakfast, which was perfect.

I drove to the hotel inside the Horse-Ti Temple. The room was clean and comfortable. The pillows were a little too soft.
It's very close to the Thirty-three Temples, so I visited the North Cave early the next morning before the crowds arrived. It was a wonderful experience.
Wild Encounters and Wildlife Exploration: At 6:30 a.m., the staff took us to feed the blue pheasants, a nationally protected species. They said they've been feeding these pheasants for seven years, and their efforts have significantly increased their numbers.
