As most commenters said, the facility and furniture are indeed with certain ages. Location is good and window outside view is fabulous. The staff are nice except one male reception staff is a bit severed, he insisted the breakfast last order is 8:00am as both dinner and breakfast are sets for each person and well prepared on the table before your scheduled time. It is too early compares to global standard especially for a family with a 5 years old child,we were trying to require for the later timeframe but he shaked his head with no further assistance,while by next morning I saw there was another table guests arrived after 8:20am but their meal is also well-prepared on the table awaits for them. The food is very Japanese local style,fresh and special with different spices,good for a try

There is no shortage of things to see in the area, with the KYUSHU RAILWAY COMPANY, Otomaru Onsenkan and Yunotsubo Kaido all nearby. When guests have some time on their hands they can make use of the onsite facilities. This Yufu hotel features parking on site. According to our guests, this hotel provides a very high level of service.

Located in a quaint little town which is about 1.5km away from Yufuin Station. Everything was perfect about this little Onsen Hotel/Inn and the food was beyond words could describe!
The only downside was to get to and fro the hotel from Yufuin Station. Taxi will set you back ¥800 per way. Bus will only take you about 750m and you got to walk the rest of the distance upslope to the hotel.
On the day of departure from the hotel, we pre-arranged a taxi to pick my wife and I up at 8.40am for our 9.07am train to Kumamoto and we were only informed that all taxi bookings were full at 8am.
My wife and I had a hasty but tasty breakfast before making our way downslope, onto the Main Street to Yufuin Station. An early morning Route March some would call it. 😂

The house is new and super clean, with a beautifully designed interior. Everything is thoughtfully planned and made with quality materials. It’s perfect for relaxation, featuring an onsen, a well-equipped kitchen, and spacious areas. The large TV and comfortable bed add to the experience. It would be even better if the second-floor toilet had a sink. I absolutely loved my stay!

Our ryokanl booking came with sukiyaki dinner and breakfast. We enjoyed the dinner very much but had to skip the breakfast due to our tight schedule. The ryokan had a cosy atmosphere, almost as if like we were staying at a good friend's house. There were a few cute and friendly cats which were mostly hanging around the courtyard and reception area. Nice onsen private onsen baths.
Wished that the ryokan had provided luggage stands for us to put our luggages instead of us having to place our luggages on the floor and on the sofa.

This was our favorite stay during our 11-day Kyushu tour, and it happened to be on our very first night. The room was spacious, comfortable, and incredibly relaxing, and the private onsen was amazing—we used it both at night and in the morning. The service from the hosts was exceptional. We accidentally left a bag of clothes after check-out, and they had it delivered to our next hotel the same evening! We’re so grateful to the person who drove up and down the mountain in the dark to bring it to us—it was a 30-minute drive away. Apologies for the inconvenience! Overall, it was an unforgettable stay, and we’ll definitely return.

Private hotel, a little bit away from the station, the station is 700 yen by taxi. The host is a couple who communicate in English politely and enthusiastically, and the room they gave was not bad. In the courtyard on the first floor, there is a bathing pond shared by the whole house, and mountains in the distance can be seen in the courtyard. The room facilities are simple and there is no elevator on the second floor. The beds are quite comfortable and you need to bring your own toiletries. The hotel is very close to Lake Kinrin. If you walk around early in the morning, you can see the white smoke on the surface of the lake. Although the breakfast arranged back is simple bread, juice and custard, it is convenient and free. After eating, went to Yuzhiping, a very nice Japanese town.

It was my first trip to Yufuin, and thanks to the owner of the hotel, he took me from the station to the hotel and to the tourist attractions, and took me from the hotel to the station, so it was very comfortable. The room even had a private hot spring, which was really nice. The room was also very clean and nice! One downside is that the sound of passing cars is very noisy... ㅠㅠㅠㅠ Highly recommended for those who have trouble sleeping!!

GGuest UserWe took the train from Beppu to Yufuin, and saw beautiful scenery along the way. Yufuin is like a fairy tale world. I was surprised when I got the room at the hotel. It was so big, surrounded by green plants, private and quiet. The small villa was very clean. The most comfortable thing was to walk around the room barefoot. There were two hot spring pools, one indoor and one outdoor. Soaking in the warm soup washed away the fatigue from the journey. There was also Kaiseki cuisine here in the evening. I had a delicious meal. It was really comfortable and relaxing. This is the feeling of vacation.

SSerena_세레나I was looking for a place with good value for money and accessibility in Kyoto because I was attracted to ryokans! It is a place near Kirin Lake, so it is close to Yufuin Street. The location is perfect! It was about 10-15 minutes walk from the bus terminal and Yufuin Station. I was alone, but I went there cheaply because there was a special price. There seemed to be many families, and I didn't make a reservation, so I used it at 16:30, which is ambiguous about using the private bath. I was originally staying in Yufuin for 2 nights, and it was the last day, so I went right at check-in time and spent the day at the accommodation. I enjoyed the private bath and the large bath, and it was so great! It was December 9/10, but it wasn't cold to wash outside (it could be the heat of the hot spring, but it varies from person to person.)
You can enjoy the private bath in the morning, but I finished the morning with the large bath! The kaiseki and breakfast were great!
I also thought it would be better if I brought my parents. I don't know if the staff is Korean, but there was someone who could speak Korean, so I had a very comfortable trip!!
You should definitely visit.

Location is quite easy to find if you’re driving, might need to take a taxi otherwise as it’s not walkable.
Food was just ok, but the staff were all very friendly and accommodating.

GGuest UserThere is a super sumptuous breakfast and dinner every day, and the service is also super good. The hotel has a great atmosphere, the floor heating is fully turned on, and there are free eggs, beer, and tea, but the dinner is so full that I can hardly eat it. The room also has everything, including a Nespresso coffee machine, a Dyson hairdryer, and some bottled lotions. The public hot springs are open 24 hours a day, so they are often reserved. They took a photo for us before dinner on the first night, posted it and gave it to us. On the last day, we misjudged the train time and almost missed the train. The front desk of the hotel helped us get a taxi, which arrived in less than ten seconds. It was so fast.

66617The hotel is very beautiful, the room is also very big, and I booked a private bath, which is really enjoyable. The most surprising thing is the dinner. I thought it was just a set meal, but it turned out to be very rich, similar to Kaiseki cuisine, with not only various sashimi but also small hot pot, Wagyu barbecue, desserts, etc. I was really full at the end of the meal, and I felt that the room price was instantly halved. Haha. The Japanese breakfast the next day was also very good.
Disadvantages: The transportation and life around the hotel are really inconvenient, and you can only choose hotel dining. There is not even a convenience store at the door. The hotel waiters are a bit short of staff and there is often no one at the front desk. The heating facilities in the lobby are open flames. Although you can't touch the fire inside, the shelves outside are hot, and children are prone to accidental injuries. This is especially important.
Our room with a private bath is on the third floor, there is no elevator, and you need to carry your luggage up the mountain by yourself. If there is no man with you, it will be really tiring.
This hotel has about 30 rooms, which is relatively large in Yufuin. The location is a distance away from Yufuin Railway Station. If you have a lot of luggage, it is recommended to take a taxi. We walked for about 20+ minutes to get there, mainly because the suitcases are not easy to push on the way up the mountain.

AAnonymous UserThis is the failure of the blind hotel selection for this trip to Japan. . In fact, there are many other hotel options in the town. Fortunately, the surrounding environment heals and does not affect the overall travel mood.
The so-called private bath is as small as a single bathtub, and the only outdoor hot spring time is very short. I didn't know that the scheduled dinner was not in the hotel until I arrived. I needed to take a car, and I didn't explain it in advance. It is very similar to a simple ABB standard hotel, which is very different from the expected hot spring hotel. It is also far from the station. The advantage is that it is very close to Jinlin Lake. Get up early and go for a walk. The environment of the town is so beautiful
The attitude of the service staff is very good. After 9 o'clock, they get off work and ask for self service. At this price, I can't complain, and I won't choose it next time

The waiter will explain the hotel facilities in detail, including the opening hours of the outdoor hot spring, meal arrangements, etc. Bob, the waiter who received us, spoke very fluent English, was attentive to arrangements, and had a friendly smile, which made people feel very relaxed and natural. The waiters here understand Mandarin and have no problem communicating. The room I booked this time is equipped with an independent bath, which is semi-open-air. You can see the outdoor scenery. The water quality and temperature are very good, and it feels very good. In addition to enjoying the hot spring in my room, I also soaked in the public hot spring in the hotel. There is an outdoor and an indoor hot spring. There are time limits. Although the hot spring is not too big and can accommodate 6 people each, there was no one during the time I soaked. Maybe Let’s all enjoy the bath in the room. However, I recommend that you book a room with an independent hot spring bath, because you can soak in the hot spring at any time. There are not many rooms here, and they are highly private, so you can enjoy a peaceful a**osphere. I booked a stay with two meals. This meal is mainly fish. The food is delicious. **But what I am not very impressed with is the control of other service providers. Mostly, 99% on the day I stayed were Koreans who were not very polite. They did not know even the etiquette and rules of using the public hot spring. I am not sure if the owner of the accommodation has informed the rules of using the hot spring, which is something I cannot accept. They were loud, threw the earbuds on the floor, and were not orderly. They also wore shoes in the common area of the dressing room in the hot spring. I was very disappointed. It was a rather disappointing vacation, even though it should have been a good day for me. I lost the mood to soak in the atmosphere. I did not even have the heart to take pictures of the atmosphere with the accommodation.
