A good allrounder, 10 out of 10 from us. Owner is very proud of what she has done, and so she should be of this gem of a place. Interacts well with her guest, is very friendly, and knowledgeable. Cooks an amazing breakfast. Plenty of choice at breakfast.

We stayed here one night and wish that we could have stayed much longer. It is a lovely, spacious house and the bedroom we stayed in was very comfortable with high quality bedding. The en suite bathroom has an excellent shower. However, what makes this such a special place in which to stay is the host, Cath who could not do enough for us. She is so friendly and helpful that my wife and I felt immediately at home. The breakfast could not be faulted with a wide selection of dishes. The house is surrounded by open countryside. This is a place we shall certainly return to.

Cannot recommend Backbrae House and Cath enough. We stayed as a family of 5 and from the first point of contact Cath couldn’t do enough. Her hospitality is second to none and it felt like a home away from home. The house is so beautiful and full of character. The bedrooms are so comfortable and the shower in the twin room is like being at a spa. The jacuzzi was enjoyed by all and with such a beautiful backdrop you couldn’t ask for more. Cath’s breakfast is superb and if you need a packed lunch make sure you ask for her chicken sandwiches my kids and us loved them. We can’t wait to come back to our new Scottish home soon enough. This was our second stay and it is paradise for me 💓 the place is beautiful and homely I feel so relaxed the minute I get out the car .. Cath is such a lovely lady we feel we have known her for ages and wee Mildred loves us 😍 The rooms are beautiful the bed wow super comfy , the shower is great and very roomy . The balcony with the hot tub is brilliant. And the breakfast is the best . It's my dream home ... We have found our new go to place 👍👍

Came for two nught to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Couldn't have asked for anything better. Room just lovely nice and spacious with door out to the hot tub. Comfiest bed I've slept in in a long time. Quality bedding. Could just have stayed in bed Hot.tub is massive with a lying or sitting option. With a beautiful view of the hills. Breakfast was gorgeous also. Cath goes the extra mile to ensure you have what you want. Warm welcome from Millie also Can't wait to return

Me and my husband booked a one night stay. We checked out this morning. We don't normally leave reviews but wanted to say what a warm and friendly host Cath is. She made us feel so welcome. The room was lovely with a big shower. The bed was extremely comfortable and had a thick cosy duvet and pillows. The breakfast was delicious, with large portions. Cath was very attentive and found the time to sit and chat with us. We will stay again.
