Hotel Don Fernando de Taos, Tapestry Collection by Hilton

The reception building suggests an historic upscale property but unfortunately the rooms which are spread across six buildings are pretty mediocre. The breakfast restaurant (ala carte) was just ok.

Staff was very welcoming, friendly, and helpful. Room was clean and specious with nice wall painting and bathroom. Parking was extremely easy and convenient. Pool was wonderful and we had a great time playing and swimming. There was an awesome coffee shop just across the road with warm atmosphere and great coffee and pastries!

I had an overnight stay at this property with my family. A few other friends had booking for their families. Hotel was accommodative to give us rooms in same building. In the morning, none of the rooms had hot water. Upon complaining to the front desk, a maintenance tech was sent who tried to fix the faucet settings. Most of the families had to take cold water showers, since the problem persisted, some were asked to shower in a different room. Front staff was insensitive to assign a single room to multiple families, and rudely argued asking families to take turns. Being a Hilton Diamond members for the years over the last few years, and a Silver member presently, I never had such a terrible experience staying at Hilton properties. I would never recommend anyone to stay at this property in Taos.
