El Monte Sagrado Resort & Spa

This resort could very well be a 4 star. It probably once was. We originally were staying in the Egyptian suite. This suite needs some very deep cleaning and renovation. The shower area smelled of mildew. The decorative pillars in the shower were of needed repair. Our amenities in our bathroom were limited. There was no shampoo or conditioner The Q tip package was opened. After requesting to speak to a manager, the staff handled it very well and moved us to a new suite (Jerome, very professional). The new suite was the Kama Sutra themed room. Unfortunately, the shower was also covered in mold. The chairs provided at a table were in very bad condition. The gaps in the doors and windows allowed bugs of all sort into our suite. There was also a window that we had to force close. The windows haven’t been cleaned in quite some time with all the dead bugs and spider webs present. We are also still mind boggled that the bed is located directly under sky lites. So much for wanting to sleep longer than 5am. Besides no hair dryer in the room along with only one robe and no complimentary slippers, this upscale resort lacked even the basic of amenities. The entire place is in need of a deep cleaning. The general manager needs to be fired. He or she does a great job of not being seen. As a business person who has worked in hospitality, this place reflects poor management and ownership.

We had a wonderful stay at the El Monte Sagrado hotel. We had mistakenly booked an accessible room, and wanted a tub in our room. Amy at the front desk was extremely helpful, and switched us into another room, brought us new keys and escorted us to a room with a wonderful tub. We were there on the last night of our honeymoon, and the staff added wonderful little perks and touches to make our honeymoon extra special. When it started raining, the valet staff had complimentary umbrellas on hand for our trip into town. In short, The El Monte Sagrado is a wonderful place with great service!

Staff is doing their best and we had good service in the restaurant for breakfast. Management is not seen anywhere and leave front line staff to address all issues. We received a text at 2 pm indicating the restaurant, lounge/bar and room service would not be available for the remainder of the day. We had planned to get a small bite before a tasting trip at 5pm knowing almost all restaurants within the community would be closed at the end of our trip. This was disappointing. The property overall needs work - sliding door handle broken, sink slow to drain, phone did not work, shower door did not close etc. we reported, but never heard from anyone during our stay.

What a delightful getaway! Park like forested grounds, amazing saltwater pool and hot tub, full service on site spa and a comfortable library with fireplace, pool table and games available. They seemed to be understaffed during our stay, but we still enjoyed it immensely.

Very serene. Very convenient to downtown Taos. Very pretty property overall. Convenient self park, though valet was included. Convenient and quick shuttle service to and from dinner. Minor issues with cleaning staff; Coffee cups weren’t taken to be cleaned and replaced between nights. Bathroom mirror not cleaned between nights. Shower not cleaned and shower mat not replaced between nights.

Wonderful stay and the staff were all exceptionally nice and helpful. I got a good message at the spa and Careen was great. I left the spa that day feeling very relaxed and like a new person. The hotel is so relaxing with the music playing and the outdoor area with the fire pit. I would stay o we and over again. 10 out of 10.

Last minute trip ended up in Taos in this beautiful resort. I look forward to staying here very soon!

It was a lovely stay , helpful staff , clean rooms , beautiful grounds… it’s very peaceful here … I will definitely come stay here again !
