Days Inn by Wyndham Taunton ★★★
"Be sure to remember to confirm your license plate number with the hotel staff or you will have a chance to receive a ticket for the service station, which has a costa cafe next to you where you can get free water"
Castle Hotel ★★★★
"I like the decoration style very much, and the hotel restaurant is delicious."
Royal Ashton Townhouse - Taunton ★★
"Hello, we are staying here with my girlfriend for the 2nd time. which we think is convenient for traveling Maybe check out earlier than other hotels But for us it's not a problem. There is a kitchen for customers. Can also cook If there is a chance, will definitely come to stay again."
Holiday Inn Express TAUNTON EAST by IHG ★★★
"Was okay hotel"
Meryan House Hotel ★★★★
"We couldn't fault the accommodation, staff or food during our two night stay. Our visit to Taunton was for a family funeral so not a time we expected to find any enjoyment. But we did. Our room was spotlessly clean and bed comfortable and welcoming after a tiring journey. The two full English breakfasts were beautifully cooked plus cereals, fruit and juices on a help yourself basis. Toast kept coming till we could eat no more. The funeral tea was held here too and once again a marvellous spread was enjoyed. Being beautiful weather the mourners made use of the pretty gardens too. Our thanks to owners and staff for everything 100% satisfied."
The Old Dairy at Bishops Barton ★★★★
"Wonderful hospitality from Liz this week and a luxurious place to stay! We arrived very late due to traffic delays but kept in touch with Liz by text who was more than accommodating and recommended a local pub to eat en route. A beautifully appointed room, easy parking and a fabulous breakfast. A great stopover before our ongoing journey to Cornwall. Thank you Liz!"
The Great Western Hotel ★★★
"This is a very British-style hotel, located just across the road from Taunton train station, but it's not noisy. Although it has a long history, it has been painted and protected extremely well. The breakfast is English-style, the portions are generous, and I personally like the taste. However, it is an old house after all, there is no elevator, and it is very inconvenient to have a lot of luggage. Moreover, faucets and showers are difficult to adjust, and the water temperature may be hot! However, the heating is really good, but it is also hot. The lady serving here is very beautiful and patient."
Taunton Ruishton (M5, J25) ★★★
"Well located with plenty of parking, the staff were all an absolute pleasure to deal with. However, the main reason for booking this hotel (during heatwave part 2) was because it had air con. On entering the room I thought maybe it was not on due to the wave of heat that met me. On closer inspection there was a slight puff of air coming out of the left hand corner of the unit which was doing nothing to cool the room. My friends and I had 4 rooms booked between us and only 1 of those rooms actually had air con working properly. The others at least had a fan in their rooms which was helping, so I went to reception and the receptionist who I will now love forever went and found me a fan for my room. The staff were wonderful, breakfast was fine, although I couldn't see any non dairy milk there which meant no cereal for me. But plenty of other items available. The huge let down for me was the air con, otherwise everything else was great"
Taunton House Hotel ★★★
"Beautiful town house in the heart of Taunton. Location was spot on right in the town centre just across the road. Lots of boutique shops and places to eat. The place is very grand and inviting. Our room was very specious we were surprised and the attention to detail was very good. Great to be able to leave the car and explore Taunton also."

"Greenham Hall is an excellent place in a beautiful countryside setting. Rooms were clean, comfortable and had great views. The gardens and the restored victorian house are delightful. Caro, the hostess, is lovely. She was very helpful and kind throughout and went out of the way to make us feel at home. The breakfast was homemade and delicious. Highly recommended and thank you Caro for a wonderful stay!"

"Lovely food and generous portions, the chicken was to die for! Food and drinks were good value for money. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming, and our waiter Mark was very pleasant 🙂 we will definitely come back if we are in the area again"
Farthings Hotel and Restaurant
"Just back from a 2 night stay at the Farthings Country Hotel and Restaurant. The Farthings is set in a quiet location within easy reach of neighbouring towns. It's a cosy hotel with great food, the staff are lovely, friendly and attentive.Would highly recommend staying here for a short break. Thank you!"
The Yarde Annexe
The Hatch Inn
"We would highly recommend this hotel, which has a nice quiet location, we we had the family room for the two of us which was huge very clean and well presented with a large flat screen television and king sized bed, tea coffee and hot chocolate facilities were available in the room, the bath room was large with a huge rainfall shower and roll top bath all spotlessly clean. Nice atmosphere with very friendly and helpful staff, lovely evening meal and very nice breakfast ( the breakfast was included in the price of the room ) excellent menu for breakfast and evening meal, free parking behind the hotel, the log fires in the bar and dining room were very welcoming, the hotel is dog friendly as well which is probably why it is so nice"
Relaxing retreat in an 1880's Chapel development, coastlines & national parks.
Notley Arms Inn Exmoor National Park
"On arrival we were met by Caroline and Simon who both were very friendly and made us feel very welcome!! We were shown to room 3 which was homely and comfortable. We then took a lovely cold beer out into the garden to enjoy the afternoon sunshine. We ate dinner both nights if our stay, the food was very plentiful and delicious! The breakfast was also very tasty and well presented. We had an amazing time and nothing was too much trouble for the hosts to ensure you had a pleasant stay. We are looking forward to our next visit!"
The Carew Arms
"We went here for some food on Friday afternoon and can honestly say that after witnessing what we did, we will never return. A woman called Grace treated a man and his son in the most disgusting way. It was clear the pub had not paid the young man his wages and the father was trying to get what he was owed to his son. The staff member kept moving the gentleman to different areas arguing with him. Why not take him to a quieter area away from the customers? She treated him and his son like they were in the wrong but clearly it was her! Even more shocking was that the father said the son had additional needs, and that during the months he had worked there this staff member admitted to not processing his details for wages, tac and national insurance having always paid him in cash, telling him he would be paid today then telling him he was not getting any pay. This woman was arrogant and played the poor, lone female card, but she was the one who was obnoxious, rude and arrogant. We have never witnessed such disregard for people and will not waste our money here again. On top of this, one of the chefs came out to back her up but he too made a fool,of himself. The man and his son were so badly treated by Grace that I wanted to say something but my husband stopped me. We will therefore tell everyone we know what a sham of a place this is. The food was not the best anyway - perhaps the jumped up chef should spend more time cooking and producing decent food than arguing with a colleagues father! The atmosphere was awful before this happened and just confirmed it was an unpleasant place to visit! What a way to treat an employee, a young one at that with additional needs. Pure discrimination from this pub! You should be ashamed of yourselves! Please teach your staff how to employ people correctly, pay them and perhaps learn some customer service skills! The woman finally gave the lad his wages, firstly not enough, but after proving what hours his son had worked she paid up! What a sham of a pub! Disgusting!"
