Wairakei Resort Taupo Reviews

This was a very good hotel! The room I stayed in was thoroughly cleaned and very tidy. Although my room didn't have a microwave, when I asked at the counter, they were able to heat up my food for me during restaurant operating hours!

The hotel is clean and offers great service. It has a swimming pool, sauna, spa, hot spring pool, and golf club. The rooms are clean with large, soft beds. The breakfast is delicious and the staff are helpful, offering recommendations for local sightseeing.

The hotel location is in rural area, so without a car, it is very difficult to go to the taupo town. There are two pools, but the upper one is quite small. Overall, it was a great stay.

Always a good stay at Wairakei resort, comfortable room very close to main lobby which has excellent AC. Plenty of on site parking and love the access to the motorway. The bathroom cleaning could be better as I found a few hairs in the tub when we got there however this was the only thing I could fault.

Beautiful hotel with a fantastic breakfast. Kids enjoyed their stay.

Nice and quite place to stay. Surrounded by tree which make the air so fresh and cool. Breakfast was super nice.

Parking is convenient, and there are many restaurants nearby. Most attractions are within a 30-minute drive. The parking space is right in front of the house, which is super convenient. There are swimming facilities, with the pool right outside.

Need to drive s bit to get food/groceries, but the resort itself was nice. Really enjoyed the spa and sauna! Breakfast was also amazing!

The toilet was broken and the hygiene was poor. More importantly, the check-in staff was very unfriendly, frowning the whole time and extremely impatient.

Carpet in the guest room we were given was very dirty and stained.  The smoking area was right beside our outdoor space (booked non smoking).  However, they were accommodating in giving us another room.  Couldn’t get over the initial disappointment so we are glad our stay was only 1 night.

The room we received was nothing like the room advertised on your website. We made our booking through *********** based on the photographs, which portrayed a modern, clean, stylish, and well-maintained room. Unfortunately, the reality was completely different. Instead of the fresh, contemporary room shown in the photos, we were given a room that felt old, tired, and poorly maintained. The flooring was covered with worn, old carpets and rugs rather than the clean, modern finishes we expected. The furnishings were dated, the overall appearance was shabby, and the room looked as though it had not been renovated in many years. It felt unclean and lacked the standard of comfort and quality that your promotional images suggested. To make matters worse, the fan in Room 412 was not working, making the room uncomfortable. Throughout the night, every time someone walked along the corridor, the old wooden floorboards creaked loudly, disturbing our sleep. These maintenance issues significantly affected our comfort and overall experience. To be completely honest, the condition of the room reminded us more of emergency housing than accommodation offered by a hotel with your name and reputation. The difference between what was advertised and what we actually received was shocking. We specifically chose your hotel because of the high-quality images displayed on ***********. Those images created an expectation of a premium experience, but the room we received fell far short of that expectation. Had the room been accurately represented, we would have made a different booking decision.

Located a bit further from the city. It has a large area with a heated pool and a gym. The rooms are spacious but a bit dated.

It's a small resort with a nice environment. The only downside is that there's no elevator for the second-floor rooms, so you have to carry your luggage up. On the bright side, the second floor offers a great view of the snow-capped mountains. There aren't many supermarkets nearby, so you'll need to go to the city for groceries. However, there's a pretty good restaurant just across the street. Overall, I highly recommend it; it's clean and hygienic, which is a big plus.

The room was spacious, and the breakfast restaurant had a great selection. The front desk staff were very friendly, which was lovely. I'm glad I brought my swimsuit because they had a heated pool and jacuzzi. I'd love to stay here again.
