Travelodge Telford Shawbirch

Rooms had been freshly painted so nice and clean, bed comfy but bathroom really needs updating. Why these places still have a bath, with an overhead shower is beyond me! My pet hate was that it had a shower curtain, but it did look clean. The bath taps were rusted though, and the water pressure was not great. The room we had on the ground floor faced the Toby garden, with a picnic table next to our window. The window didn’t have a net curtain, so we had to close the main curtains every time we left the room. The garden table was so close, that people could view what we had in our room. Not good, for the opportunists out there. Staff were friendly and the Toby next door for dinner and breakfast was good and the staff friendly and welcoming. It’s not far from other amenities with a garage and Gregs in walking distance. It did for what we needed, for an overnight stay.

Checked in early as work was quite. Didn't take extra for me and was a very hot day so didn't want to spend extra time in my works van. No issues whatsoever. I have been staying here for nearly five years now and had no issues. Greggs, petrol station is right next door.

Since our last visit you could see many improvements had been done or ongoing which actually made it feel more welcoming and up to date. Fresh smell of paint, new chairs and pictures in the rooms crisp clean bedding and fresh towels with more available if needed. The room was fresh and definitely 100% cleaner than our last visit too so this particular travelodge has upped its game which was lovely to see.we unfortunately had a few niggles last time but you could tell they had listened and we will definitely recommend to others and will be staying there again ourselves. Very poor facilities. Hotel undergoing upgrade at present - hopefully that will improve it. Won't be going back to find out

The room smelled so bad I felt sick, I am not sure what the smell was. The Pillows were very flat The Soap dispenser didn't work. Everything looked very worn and tired. The Grab and Go breakfast was a huge ripoff. I do not recommend a stay here, stay away!!!

First off , the staff are friendly. As for the hotel, it's very run down and the rooms need decorating. My bathroom door had a hole in it and the bathroom looked dirty due to brown marks on the sink shelf. The bed was very uncomfortable (hard) and the pillows are hard and flat. I stopped for a few day and hardly slept a wink. I wouldn't stay there again.
