"The room was a normal PI room, comfortable bed, clean with a good shower etc. Breakfast was excellent - special thanks should go to the very friendly helpful staff member "in charge" of breakfasts during our visit (8/12 June). You park in a "nearby" multi storey car park, with a discounted rate for PI guests. The only problem was that because of road closures we found it very difficult to actually get to the specified car park - maybe a map would be helpful !!"

"Perfect stay for ehat we needed , furniture in our room alittle old and outdated , kettle had limescale around funnel but we didn't need to use it, but the was clean . Continental breakfast was lovely, lots of choice, also bacon, scrambled eggs and beans included. Staff very helpful, I would book to stay again ."

"Room services communication needs to be addressed. It was difficult to communicate with Reception as the phone kept ringing. Tv and fridge not working in one of the rooms. Unfortunately, this was not communicated .Staff very friendly, and facility looked perfectly clean.I can go back for another romantic vacation with my wife if I get the chance."

"The room was characterfully decorated befitting this elegant Georgian house, yet full of modern day comforts and well heated. The full English breakfast was exceptional, using the best of ingredients. Other breakfast options were available, including smoked salmon with eggs and smashed avocado with eggs which were both excellent. There was an option of an evening meal which we took one evening. Again, this was exceptionally good. We had the roast belly of pork with black pudding (with wonderful crackling!). The hosts made our 3 night stay perfect."

The Telford Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort ★★★★

"The staff in the hotel were very helpful. I stayed for 4 nights. When I checked in on day 1 I went to my room. The room was very dusty and there were holes in the carpet. The bath was running when I got to the room and I couldn’t turn it off. I contacted reception to report the issue and they agreed to change my room after someone come to look at the issues.  Checked into the second room and the theme was the same. Dusty carpets and skirting boards, bathroom not the cleanest either.  Other than the cleanliness of the rooms, the hotel is nice & the staff are friendly. The hotel is in need of a refurb though"

The Swan Taphouse ★★★

"We chose to stay here for a one night stay, on our way to an event in Shrewsbury, and to add another night to our weekend away. The Swan pub was once an 18th century malt house, so the room was a bit quirky and reflected the age of the property, but it was spacious, clean and comfortable, with a large en-suite and tea & coffee etc provided in the room. We didn't actually use the shower, so can't comment on how good it was. Nor did we eat or drink in the pub, as we prefered the menu at the sister pub next door (The Malthouse, which we have stayed in before and would have again, but the Swan was much cheaper!) The rooms have their own entrance to the car park, so you can come and go outside of the pub opening times. The car park is quite small and a bit tatty, but we managed to get a space when we arrived. There is also street parking and a public car park nearby if the pub car park is full though. Our room had a nice view of the river across the road, and the outside drinking area, but we didn't experience any noise from the pub at all. Having said that, we spent the evening at the pub next door as they had a really good live band playing, and the Swan was close to closing time when we returned to the room! We had a large family room with a double and a single bed in the room and it was very spacious. The bed was a little soft for our liking, but that's just personal preference and we slept ok. We would definitely stay here again, if the price was as reasonable as it was this time."

"Room is nice and clean. Location is great, just next to the main road. Carpark is not free, charges £5 if not booking the room through their website. Rmb not to buy their breakfast, it’s just breakfast boxes that can be bought cheaper at the hotel. It is also convenient to just have breakfast at restaurants next to the hotel. There’s no lift, so need to take luggage upstairs."
