Hotel Menel the Tree House- Adults Only

First choice booking. Hotels best feature is its location- right in centre of Limenaria. Countless restaurants outside the door but hotel is also quiet. Literally 100m from small harbour sandy beach- ideal to put a towel down and hop in for a swim. Breakfast was fine- hot dishes of eggs, sausages and bacon in a hot locker. Toast you can make, yoghurt and fruit etc. coffee and orange brought to your table. Breakfast room is quite small so pick your time to go- 8-10am. Roof top pool deck is nice- closed 2-4. Rooms clean. Good air con. Fresh towels daily. It’s really nice. We didn’t pay fur sea view so you get one. But balcony was nice.

Booked with tui. I emailed hotel via their site to confirm and got fast reply. Transfer long from airport. Bus stopped lots on other side of island. Dropped at foot of stairs up to hotel. Met by lady in charge and paid £10 room tax for week. Room is well air conditioned and clean. No sea view, we didn’t book one so our view is off roof tops. Room is quiet. Roof top terrace nice. Wonderful view. Reception lady brought us free drinks up, open 10-8 but closed 2-4. Breakfast- eggs and bacon and spinach filo, plus toast and yoghurt etc. lady brings you coffee or tea and juice. Breakfast room by reception. Food tasty, best part of this hotel is location. Right in town with countless restaurants. Also 1 min from little harbour beach for a dip. It’s not 5 star but we didn’t pay 5 star, but if you want real Greece in heart of a pretty busy town, this is ideal. Room cleaned daily with fresh towels, also complimentary toiletries, and a bath robe and slippers to wear. It’s cute.

Just returned from 2 weeks break here at Menel Hotel.Athanasia, the lady that runs the hotel along with another lady who i didnt take her name, both work extremely hard. A lovely hotel, immaculately clean with towels changed daily. The rooftop terrace is lovely. The dipping pool is great to cool off.. The room is small and limited amount of storage and hanging space, but we managed ok. There is a fridge in the room and coffee machine where you can purchase a box of coffee pods for 3 euro in supermarkets. and a hairdryer in bathroom. The breakfast is great from cereals, Greek Yogurt and honey (amazing), meats, cheeses, fruit, breads to toast, eggs (fried, scrambled, boiled), bacon, sausages, beans and pastries, It is situated across the road from the Harbour and right in the heart of the town where there are plenty of shops, bars, supermarkets and Tavernas. It is an unspoilt resort. The Sister Hotel Anna Beach has a small swimming pool which you are able to use and you can also use the sun longers and parasols on beach if you buy drinks or food from Anna beach Hotel. The beach is just minutes walk away. The beach is sandy and shingle but rocky when entering the water so do buy beach shoes, they are a must! The sea is lovely and warm and very clear. We took a day Boat Tour around the whole Island for 45 euros from 9am - 7.30pm which included small lunch, we booked this at the harbour. Well worth it as seen some beautiful coves and beaches and was able to swim in the beautiful turquoise waters. We also booked the Sunset boat tour at only 15 euros, which was brilliant too. I would highly recommend this hotel if location and practically along with cleanliness is what you are looking for. Yes it is a 2 star and you are paying 2 star prices so dont expect the Ritz.

A mess of a hotel I can say.I paid for the vacation through the agency in March, and 2 weeks before going on vacation I was notified by the agency that the hotel staff overbooked. Move to the jungle..

Stayed at the menel for a week in June, booked via TUI. Having read the reviews we were anticipating a small room but it was fine for us, spent quite a lot of time on the balcony people watching as our room overlooked the harbour. The hotel was very clean and well run. Breakfast was well presented and provided enough range and choice for us. Staff were very friendly but not too intrusive. We had a great time and would definitely return to Thassos and the Menel.

It's our second time in Thassos, the first time we stayed in the Louloudis which is a boutique hotel. The Menel is not. However it is a fabulous place to stay. I really can't seriously pick fault with this hotel. Yes it is up a few steps and the breakfast is limited( by the way I have just had a major operation on my leg, so if I can manage it so can you!). It's spotless clean and the bathrooms are great( room 13). It's also quiet and the beds are very comfortable. We had a double balcony with two chairs and a table. The aircon is in with the price, and silent in operation, what about that! The hotel is opposite the harbour with a beach to the left, and lots of taverns and a few bars to the right. Fantastic value for money. Never had a bad meal or drink throughout our stay, with very reasonable prices too. We normally don't do two stars, but I would come back to the Menal in a heartbeat.
