Babbacombe Bay House

We are just returning from a fabulous week away in Babbacombe for my Mums 70th birthday. The house was amazing, lovely large rooms, beautiful roof terrace, fantastic sea views, plenty of space in the communal rooms for all of us. The house was immaculate and beautifully decorated and fully furnished with everything the you might need. I've stayed in a few private houses and this was the best one as everything was thought of. There were a lots of lovely extra touches from the owners that were unexpected but very much appreciated. Jackie and Tony could not have been more helpful, we asked a few questions and they always came back and sorted it out one being providing a high chair at the last minute that we hadn't thought to mention. They really were the perfect hosts. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a break away in Devon.

We stayed here over May Bank Holiday weekend for 3 nights. The room is lovely with a balcony and sea view. We stayed in The Downs. It was a coded entry so didn’t meet the owners but would love to say how nice the place is. Lovely gesture of milk and mineral water in the fridge and a lovely Victoria Sponge cake to welcome us. The room and facilities were very clean. Near to lovely walks, in a peaceful location, but not far from Torquay if you want the hustle and bustle. The room is above an excellent restaurant and we had a very Yummy breakfast. Quality service and worth booking to make sure that can they serve you. Hopefully we will come back soon.

We were a family of 9 and stayed for a long weekend Friday-Monday in the main house which was over 4 floors and had onsite parking for 2 cars. We arrived before the 4pm check in rang up and spoke to Tony who told us the house was ready so could go in. WOW!! this place was amazing, Large fruit bowl on table and milk in fridge on arrival. The bedrooms all en-suite with their ornate furnishings were superb with tv’s and tea/coffee included in all rooms. Free wi-fi throughout. What can I say about the roof terrace which goes all around the property with spectacular views of the bay & surrounding areas and ample seating and loungers. (We were lucky as we had the glorious weather in October and made use of this) This is the place to stay you have everything you need within walking distance - Cafe, bars, restaurants. Thank you Tony & Jackie we will definitely come again x

Really enjoyed our all too short a stay, comfortable large bed in beautifully maintained apartment. Large modern bathroom with bath and shower. Rooftop terrace as well. Excellent breakfast in downstairs cafe with vegan & vegetarian options. Just perfect.

USED THE RESTUARANT SAT OUTSIDE & ORDERED A SINGLE SCONE CREAM TEA TOOK 45 MINUTES BEFORE ANYONE NOTICED WE HADNT RECIEVED IT THEN WHEN IT ARRIVED THEY HAD TWO SCONES EACH BUT ONLY I JAM & 1 CREAM. WHEN I WENT TO PAY THEY CHARGED ME £24.90 FOR A TRULY BAD EXPERIENCE.

Booked The Cliff Top and so pleased we did. Amazing views walking into the living room. Fabulous living space, two double bedrooms complete with en suites . Perfect for Mum and I. Good selection of places to eat and drink. Had a lovely walk along to the Model Village which is definitely worth a visit. The one main issue was the parking which I’d seen mentioned on other reviews so was prepared. Reluctant to move the car at times as couldn’t guarantee a space. Wouldn’t put us off though. Also was a struggle trying to unload the car and then go up the 4 flights to our apartment but the view made up for it. And again, will not put us off booking again. Already planning when we can come back. Had a sneaky peak at the other suites when chatting to other guests and all are amazing . All kitted out in lovely decor. Would highly recommend staying here and as mentioned earlier can’t wait to come back .
