"Absolute quality and our only disappointment with this hotel was that our booking was only for 1 night! Room was quaint, clean and comfortable. Free car parking provided. Location fine - 20 minute walk to the castle - lovely wander through the village or down by the various lakes. What absolutely made this stay so wonderful was the lovely decking area overlooking the fantastic lake and the service from the young lady who did everything, morning, noon and night, serving food and drinks. We had lunch and dinner here (separate review under the restaurant - probably our favourite meal whilst travelling around Latvia and Lithuania) and breakfast too. Particularly enjoyed a bottle of wine at night just taking the lake view in with hot air balloons floating high over. Breakfast was equally fantastic, undoubtedly the best of the holiday. Great place."

"We booked a standard room from pictures posted with normal windows. We ended up in a loft room 506 with a velux window. Very dated room with a bathroom that was not the cleanest and lots of cracked tiles. If you get room shown on the site maybe this is not an issue. Also the lift only goes to 4th floor. You need to go up steps to 5th floor so not good if you have mobility issues."
