More than adequate for our overnight stay. Loved the nautical theme. Self check in was straight forward. Complimentary breakfast was more than expected along with coffee/tea facilities in the room. Definitely recommend. Would have liked a room with a sea view but it was only a short walk to see the sun set.

Sorry but Im a bit of a snob when it comes to overnight accommodation, I want somewhere nice, and I like it to be well located too. So, when I found out I needed a Saturday late night stay after the ferry from Dublin was to finally arrive at Holyhead, I felt that The Hut would tick all my boxes. And it did! Contacting the two owners beforehand was easy, and they’re so helpful, I had that comfortable feeling that evening if the ferry would have me arrive at midnight at my accommodation, that it wouldn’t be an issue (I fully intended to be quiet going to my room at that late hour and I’m just glad of the chance to do it)….other places in Holyhead have a much earlier and strict curfew, which is all very honourable in some ways, but what about poor old weary travellers who have no choice but to arrive towards midnight? The Hut are ok with this, there’s a key safe system, works perfectly too, and so I knew I didn’t have to fret during the Saturday in Dublin, over whether I’d be sleeping on a bench at the ferry port due to a difficult hotel. The ferry was a few mins late getting in, 23.15, and to cap that, foot passengers are made to wait for ages til every last car has had the luxury of leaving first. The;it was a weary trudge to The Hut on foot, but mercifully it’s not far at all, ten mins walk for the ferry port and train station, over the nice foot bridge then along the harbour road. The key safe worked fine as I said earlier. Yes, the stairs are a little narrow, I guess not good for people with any mobility issues, but fine for those of us who are currently able bodied. Found the room easily, and it has a good solid door and lock. The room isn’t big, Princes Maud anyway, but who needs a big room, I wasn’t there to play indoor football. You just want clean, tidy, functional, welcoming, a good solid bed, a shower, WC, and in my case a nice harbour view too, the Hut delivered on all those things and more, thanks for the coffee, biscuits, etc. I felt confident that if I’d needed any help, I could easily contact the owners, they even put on the handbook in the room, the contact info to get hold of them if needed. Not needed at all, I felt almost rude in not contacting them LoL, but, such a fleeting stay, arrived just before midnight, gone at 0800. Hopefully I didn’t make a sound during my stay, I like silence. You could hear the occasional noise of wagons outside at the ferry port, but that goes with the territory. I loved The Hut, it’s convenient, comfortable, clean, and got everything you need for a stay. They even accommodate dogs, if you would just kindly put a tenner in an honesty envelope to help them do that extra bit of cleaning. Thank you so much to the two owners, highly recommended, and a big hello from me, as I didn’t see them of course.

Cannot rate this place highly enough. Owners went above and beyond to accommodate us and our pooch after our tent got waterlogged and we only had PJ's to our name. Even tumble dried our clothes! We are SO grateful and the room was immaculate and the best night sleep ever after an awful night in a wet tent. Thank you for your hospitality!

Lovely guys running the show. Had no problem letting us in earlier than the booking wa originally planned. Holyhead was alright but the hotel/guesthouse or whatever you would call it was brilliant. Eclectic mix of characters in the social area , tea and coffee provided. All you need for a comfortable stay. Extremely clean as well!

It's satisfactory if you are traveling alone, but do not share these rooms. They are cramped and the beds are small and very uncomfortable. It's impossible for two people to move around without injuring each other. Also, there is no one on site so if something goes wrong, you are screwed.

Great value place with all you need for a short stay in Holyhead. The rooms are small, but they're upfront about that. We did appreciate the guest lounge downstairs with free coffee and tea (any chance of a microwave though?)

Lovely gem of a place, tucked away by the port in Holyhead. Really cute decor, clean and comfortable. The owners have put in lots of detail to make it really special. The remote booking in was brilliant as we got there late. Perfect for early morning ferry crossings

Great little find in Hollyhead. We booked a couple of rooms overnight to catch the morning ferry to Ireland. The rooms are small but fit double beds and were clean and fresh. The owners are making every effort to ensure the stays were welcoming. The lounge was great addition. We grabbed a takeaway and we’re able to use the cutlery and crockery provided. The free tea/coffee and chilled milk were a great thought. No breakfast available however there is a McD 2mins from ferry terminal. Definitely book again as a stop for the ferry.
