Scandic Ishavshotel ★★★★
"Room is spacious and comfy. Bed is good. Overall the stay is satisfying. Room view is good but so far did not see any northern light from our room. Breakfast spread is good. Overall satisfied with our stay."
Comfort Hotel Xpress Tromsø ★★★
"I really like the hotel’s location—it’s easy to reach from the airport and convenient for getting to nearby attractions. Everything I wanted to visit in Tromsø is within walking distance. The staff are warm and friendly, and I appreciate that they provide hot water at the Barception for instant drinks or cup noodles. I also enjoyed their hot latte (self paid) it was perfect for warming up as I stepped out and strolled toward my first stop, the Tromsø City Library and Archive."
Clarion Hotel the Edge ★★★★
"The best hotel in Tromso for us. Everything is just walking distance. Food was great . Service was great. All the staff are so nice . Thank you Clarion Hotel Tromso."
The Dock 69°39 by Scandic ★★★
"The hotel is absolutely beautiful, exactly conforming to my idea of Nordic design. The room is a bit on the small side; it's perfect for one person, but might feel a little cramped for two. Breakfast is extensive and entirely self-service. The hotel's location is very convenient: there's an airport bus stop right outside, it's a 5-minute walk to the Arctic Cathedral, and the city center is just a ten-minute walk away."
Enter Backpack Hotel ★★★
"The single room I booked has a shared bathroom. The room is compact and has a sink and guesthouse. The hotel has a good location, the staff is friendly, there is a kitchen and restaurant to use, and free tea and coffee are provided every day. The shared bathroom room is about 5-6 rooms sharing a shower room and toilet on each floor. The overall experience is very good, but there are two shortcomings First, the toilet will be very crowded in the morning. All the toilets on the three floors are used, resulting in queuing. Second, the sound insulation of the room is not very good. If the neighbors talk loudly, you can hear it clearly, but fortunately, the neighbors are not too loud when sleeping, so it does not affect sleep"
Sommarøy Arctic Hotel Tromsø ★★★★
"Good views and near supermarket. Love the bathroom! But has no elevator"
Radisson Blu Hotel, Tromso ★★★★
"The location is fantastic, right in the city center, making it incredibly convenient to get anywhere. There are even many tour meeting points right outside the door. The front desk staff were all very helpful. The rooms are quite spacious, though the shower drain is a bit slow. Breakfast offers a good variety, and I was pleasantly surprised to find Chinese fried rice!"
Smarthotel Tromsø ★★★
"Location was perfect… staff awesome…. But… extremely tiny little rooms…. Too expensive for the price I think. Some light spots were broken.."
Home Hotel with ★★★★
"The hotel is very old and the rooms are not cleaned every day. Overall, it is okay. The price is slightly higher."

Thon Hotel Tromsø
"Amazing hotel! Perfect location- right in the heart of Tromso so you can get around super easily. The hotel was lovely- it had everything you wanted and the breakfast was delicious. 10/10 would recommend!"
Pingvinhotellet Unn Tromsø
"Nice hotel, located in a good area with a bus straight to main town centre"
First Hotel Viking
"Booked a quad room, but it was very small. The bathroom was tiny and the lighting was dim. The room itself felt old and dated. However, the location was a huge plus – everything was within walking distance, including McDonald's and the whale watching pick-up point. Plus, they offered free waffles every evening at 5 PM (self-service) and coffee and tea all day long, which was great!"
Tromsø Apartments
"It was a great accommodation experience. I saw the aurora at home for two consecutive days and took a lot of photos! The overall decoration is simple but warm, the facilities are complete, and the landlord is very nice! I plan to book this hotel when I come to Tromso again! !"

"Very comfortable and cozy hotel, great breakfast, exquisite rooms, complete facilities, convenient location and distance, I saw the aurora from the room window at night, very good experience"

"The hotel is quite far from the centre of Tromsø. The bus stop to go to the airport is 10 minutes away. It seems like a short walk but if it is snowing and you have a lot of luggage you have to go early because the slopes are icy. When you enter, it is wonderful. They have renovated the common areas and it is super nice. But when we entered our double room... It was not renovated. It is the smallest room we have stayed in in 8 days in the area. The door is not in good condition. The bathroom looks like it belongs in a "hospital". For our taste, the bed and pillows are uncomfortable. The walls of the room are not in good condition either. When we went to breakfast it seemed like another hotel. The cafeteria with panoramic views was beautiful. And the buffet breakfast was very tasty. We were quite shocked by the huge difference between the common areas and the room."
Aera - Aurora Glass Cabins
"I was very disappointed by this property. Given the extremely high price, I was expecting a genuine luxury experience, but what I got felt more like a basic cabin rental with minimal service. I stayed in one of the three panorama glass lodges. On the positive note, the bed is confortable and the cabin is nicely decorated with a beautiful view on the fjord. But it is very small, with nowhere to properly store a suitcase, and the bathroom is even smaller. There are no hangers for the winter coats. Privacy is basically non-existent due to the glass walls, and there is significant light pollution from neighboring cabins and the nearby road. This is definitely not an ideal place to see the Northern Lights. Breakfast was honestly a joke. You have to pre-order it the night before through an online tool, and they advertise it as a “breakfast in bed” experience, which felt cheap rather than special. You can see the photo I posted, it was the worst breakfast of my entire trip. You have to make your own tea or coffee. My biggest issue with this place is the pricing, the price is not aligned with the value. I checked their rates, and in summer the price seems more appropriate for such basic accommodation. But in winter (September to April), prices increase by up to eight (!!!) times, which is completely unjustified. The website is very well done, but it is misleading, this is not a luxury property. They also advertise an aurora alarm, but it only works until around 10pm. On the night I stayed, it had been cloudy and many guests were desperate to see the Northern Lights. I stayed up, and around midnight the sky cleared with an amazing display, yet there was no alarm and no one outside. I could not take advantage of the glass walls of my cabin since had to get out in the snow to see the lights that were in wrong direction. I still enjoyed the sight but felt there was too much light pollution around. When booking, they also push a “free” electric car rental, which is useless if you already have a car (as most people do) or don’t want to drive in snowy conditions. I also signed up for the king crab dinner. The crab itself was excellent, but the experience felt chaotic. Large tour groups were prioritized, my dinner was moved one hour later, and I was only informed when I arrived. Again, overpriced for what it was. My advice: save your money. Stay in Tromsø and book a Northern Lights tour, you will have a far better experience for a fraction of the cost."
Tromsø Lodge & Camping
"Best hotel best spot. Although room is small but enuff for 2 of us to cook our own meal. Manage to see the aurora 3 nights in e hotels. So lucky! No aircon but weather is cool enuff. Parking right outside my cabin and EV charging area is just 2 min away from your cabin. Would recommend everyone to book tis hotel when staying in tromso."
Thon Hotel Polar
"Very little interaction with guests, beds not made daily, even in a business room, and tea/coffee not replenished daily."
Bispegata 5 - Studio Apartment Hotel
"The hotel is quite good. It's not very spacious, but it has everything you need. Plus, its downtown location makes it super convenient for getting around."
First Hotel Skansen
"Great location!! Rooms are clean and warm enough, breakfast is very good."
