Vila Nova de Milfontes Hotels with Wi-Fi

At any decent quality hotel we expect to have a good night's rest. Certainly in a 4-star (****) hotel. Unfortunately, this was not the case in this hotel. We have gotten a room at the very east side of the building (opposite side from the reception) and got 'entertained' by a loudly, noisy air-condition type of sound, all night long. It was even not from any neighbouring room, it definitely came from the far east side of the building. Not to mention the overall quality of the room and the furniture, which couldn't pass the 3-star bar.

Apartment-style hotel, no washing machine, all facilities are a bit outdated. The service staff are very enthusiastic, the environment is good, and it is very close to the beach. It is a good place to watch the sunrise and sunset. The nearby town is worth visiting

Defects: air conditioning noise of room 2, because the ventilator is on the balcony of room 3 (it was our) and is released on the ground I leave a tip, put a towel down. Distance from the center/strands (about 2 to 3km), always forces to take the car. It was top, very good pool.

We recently cycled from Lisbon to the Algarve and the company we cycled with (Cycling Rentals - century cycles) put us up in this lovely hotel in this beautiful town. Our room was at the back looking over the gardens. It had a little terrace. The room was spacious and the bed very comfy. The only issue was it had no kettle and being English we’d brought our teabags along for our morning and afternoon cuppa! We were told that there were no kettles to lend us (every other hotel we had been on our trip happily provided us with one to the room or the rooms already had them in!) We we’re told that we could use the shared kettle that was in the main building upstairs on a landing. We dutifully did that and had to trek through the hotel with our hot cups of tea. We are partial to a camomile tea at bedtime but couldn’t even get in to use this ‘shared kettle’ because they lock all the doors at 9 (even the bar closes early too) so unless you had a room in that building you could not go in to use the kettle. Strange. Maybe they need to think about investing in a kettle for the rooms OR providing a kettle for each section that is accessible and not locked by 9 pm! Shame the bar closes, we’d have enjoyed an after dinner drink there - they are missing a trick! Nice little pool out front of the hotel and the staff who do the breakfast, the cleaning and all the laundry were just lovely. The guy on reception was helpful up to a point but just seemed a bit aloof! The town of VN de Milfontes is lovely and the hotel is well situated and you can walk everywhere. Make sure you go to the beach bar for sundowners and the most delicious grilled fish!

Wonderful hosts, room was spacious with luxury linens. Although we were off season, and it was quiet the town itself is a lovely place to stroll around. It is the little things that made this stay special, and I'd list them but then it wouldn't be a surprise. Isabel helped us find a restaurant which was a few doors down, and had fabulous food, and sat down and chatted with is for quite a bit. I would rate this as an upscale boutique hotel, worth the price. next time I would choose the room upstairs that faces the water, what a view!

Check-in - - - good luck. The two addresses for checking in took us on a frustrating hour and a half journey. First to a closed up office in town. I was lucky to run into a nice local resident who helped me find the second address I was given. This took me to a beach restaurant. The manager there directed me to a hotel about a kilometre away where check-in was completed. When I told them about the address problems, they said it was because we booked through a third party - - - I said that they need to communicate with the third party better if they are allowing them to book their rooms. Whatever - - - just give me my key. With check-in complete, we drove to the accommodation. Poor directions from the hotel but we found our way to a pot-hole ridden gravel road down a steep embankment. We almost turned around as we were unsure if it was the correct road. Finally, the room. It was clean, but felt ”old”. Nothing updated except the windows - - - old kitchen, old bathroom, old bedrooms. Mediocre at best. This place could be ”so much more” with its location.

The location is unbattable, the city centre is certainly the strong point of this hotel. The room is small but has everything that is needed for a short/medium stay, the bedroom and the coats were surprisingly comfortable! The weak point of the room is almost inexistent insonorization. All that happens in the corridor is heard, as if there were no walls, and the other rooms also hear conversations, even the water in the bathroom, and we did not cross with many staff, and the few we crossed were not very kind. The reception was often without anyone to take care of, and in general, for the value paid, I think it is a balanced price-quality relationship.

I don't know if we were just lucky with the apartment that might have been, but what is true is that the photos of the site did not match everything we found. Apartment to be asked for maintenance! We had myself as my colleagues, the bathroom was mined, and some in the room. The smell of mosquito on the day we arrived was horrible, we had only a window in the room that was always open to make air flow with the entrance door otherwise it was breathless. The bus stops when every discharge was not filled, unless they opened it; the polyban was another of the problems, we had to close the water to the rack to give vacuum otherwise we would make the toilet a swimming pool, which made every bath dubble the time. The bed was half-to-watched, the bed was bad, it needs an urgent general update! As I said, I don't know how the rest are, or if we were lucky, but it was a bad experience that makes me not want to come back.
