Casa Verde B&B

Staff was incredibly friendly, the area is perfect walking distance from most touristic attractions. Honestly the water pressure and temperature from the shower made it the best I had had in my almost 2 months in Bolivia.

Perfect location: 5 minutes' walk from Sucre's Plazza. Staff is very friendly and helpful: can help with arrangements for next steps in your journey. Rooms are very nice and clean, with hot shower. Breakfast is basic, but OK. There is a small kitchen that guests can use. And there is a small pool!

We stayed here 4 nights during a period of travel in South America. So far it's the best place we've stayed in and half the reason we spent so long in Sucre. The hotel itself is very clean with nice communial areas, including a swimming pool and PCs to use, as well as WIFI. There is also a kitchen that the owner was happy for me to use on several occassions. The rooms themselves are homely with really comfortable beds (a rare luxury in South America!) and hot showers. The owner Rene is extremely helpful and was happy to offer advice on where to go in Sucre and provided maps for us to use. I would recommend for anyone to stay here.

Great place in Sucre We stayed in the family room with a loft bedroom upstairs. Very spacious for 3 adults, clean and friendly staff. Breakfast was great!

Sucre is a UNESCO World Heritage site, and a virtue of the Casa Verde is its fidelity to the city’s colonial past — it has resisted temptations to the pursuit of luxury through unwarranted modernization. Yes, it has excellent Wi-Fi, which extends to the nicely planted courtyard patio (with a small swimming pool!), and the water in the smallish bathroom runs hot when you need it, but by and large the visitor is embraced by an ethos of sufficiency rather than excess. What the guest most appreciates about the premium Casa Verde places on sufficiency is in the room rate. For my room, which could sleep four (there was an upper-level loft with two twin beds), I paid 200 Bolivianos (US $28) a night. These were the prices I came to Bolivia for! Breakfast is served communally, at two long tables in the simple breakfast room. No fancy espresso coffees (which must have particularly disappointed the Italians who were the majority of guests during my 3-night August stay), but intensely brewed Bolivian beans made for sufficient wake-up before each day’s exploration. Casa Verde is located some four blocks “up” town from the central square of Sucre, so it is well within walking distance of nearly all the important sights and relevant restaurants in town.

Couldn't recommend this place enough! We had a spotless room with exposed wood beams and the best beds we had in Bolivia. The courtyard was a sunny place to rest too. We had a 4 day tour planned and the staff were happy to hold our bags and let us pay 30BOB per person for a shower upon our return.
