Right from making the booking, this was a positive experience. Derek & Mark are excellent hosts - warm and welcoming, as well as clean and efficient. When I arrived in Nelson on a gloomy rainy day, there was a text from Derek saying the room was available if I wanted to book in early. How thoughtful! The garden suite was gorgeous, and thoughtfully laid out. It included plenty of mirrors, a spare power board for chargers, real good quality coffee, real milk and a good heat pump - all sadly lacking in most kiwi motels. The room was very comfortable. There was plenty of room as there were three adults staying in the room. We like to have a motel room with a kitchen area. The Boutique Motel had this amenity which was very suitable. The owners where extremely friendly and were able to give us information of where to eat and various other information for the locality of the motel. We liked the area of where the motel was situated, being between Nelson and Richmond. Plenty of parking spaces for guests too. We would highly recommend the Boutique Motel as a go to place to stay.

We come up to Nelson for a friend 50th and we stayed at this really nice and cozy place, the reception was super friendly, the rooms is clean and tidy, and comfortably, I Will definitely stay here again, and we got a coffee card discount for the cafe Grwemeadows just around the corner.

Lovely friendly hosts. Motel is easily found and easy parking. Close to shops and restaurants. Beautiful clean deluxe suite. Two televisions, good quality beds and linen. Comfortable couch and nicely decorated room. Sound proof from. Street noise and quiet at night. Close to airport

Fabulous motel, driving distance to Nelson airport and close to supermarkets, petrol stations and eateries. Spotlessly clean and lots of extras which show a good understanding of what travellers need eg multi plug charger and decent coffee with fresh milk not plastic pots! Really hot water and comfortable bed. Stayed for two nights and would definitely stay again if was in the area.

The greatest asset at the Boutique Motel is Des. She is truly amazing. She is a perfect example of how to welcome someone at a property. She is kind, efficient, and extremely helpful. I needed to check in very early. I called the day before to inquire about dropping off my luggage and then finding a coffee shop where I could work until my room was ready. When Des found out that I had to work, she said that she would have a room ready for me when I arrived. And she did! A tidy room was ready and waiting for me. Because I had arrived without a car, Des offered me the use of one. Most places offer the use of a bicycle! She made sure that I knew where to find coffee shops, grocery stores, and restaurants. And if all that was not enough, she delivered a homemade treat to my room. She is quite simply, amazing. The motel is a small property. Be aware that there is not an elevator. So pack light. My room was small but designed efficiently. Old style tile in the bathroom provided a "retro" feel to the room. The in-room climate system was great for establishing the perfect environment. The room also had a microwave and a mini-fridge. Coffee and tea were provided, and the owners of the motel operate a coffee cafe called Little Nessie, which is within walking distance. The bed was comfortable, and the neighborhood was quiet at night. Which made sleep easy. The next time I am in the area, I will definitely be checking into the Boutique Motel.

Two couples travelling together and we spent two nights at the Boutique Hotel. Very friendly and helpful welcome and departure - nice people who care about business. Everything was perfect and we would be happy to stay here again. An added bonus was each of us receiving a quality free espresso/latte at a nearby cafe which apparently is within the same ownership.
