We popped in for food on our way back from Hay. Really friendly staff, efficient service and the food is great so really pleased. Good selection of local beers and ciders too. I had the steak burger which was great followed by bread and butter pudding.

This establishment will always have a nice place in my heart. This is where I broke the news to my old Friend Clive, that I am actually his biological father. We shared a Larger and Lime over a plate of chips. It’s funny because now living in Gloucester, I have missed out on spending time with my boy due to being on call with my new patio repair business. But now I have a reason to be back in Herefordshire, I will be back here with Clive, my wife Rose and the General in the future. I especially look forward to meeting the Chef, Pablo again. He was a great laugh.

Called in at the Boat for a quick bite to eat after a crazy morning. Food was the best we’ve had in a long time. Scrummy home made chunky chips and the fish looked amazing. Minted lamb was lovely with cream potatoes. Really cozy atmosphere with the fire lit. And a really nice cup of coffee to finish.

The printed paper menu which was presented to me on Wednesday was stained with food. Two of us had the Senior meal of fish and chips, the chips were fine but the fish was frizzled up beyond recognition and was riddled with bones. We have eaten at this restaurant many times previously and have been very happy but not so this time.

Food gross 4 soft drinks and 2 ham baguettes, theylooked l ike croissants. The arrived with packet salad which was going brown and horrible dominoes. There was a cigarette in the ashtray on our table outside from previous customer. The cost was astronomic £36 which made the baguettes £12 each .Won't be visiting again.

I’ve visited the boat on a few occasions now and it has never disappointed! From the scenic views to the lush food , it truly is up there as one of my favourite places. I visited in November for a retirement party and what a party it was. The staff were friendly, efficient and didn’t stop smiling throughout. Nothing was too much trouble, they catered for our every need! I ordered steak - the steak was cooked perfect and the homemade chips were lush 😍😍 if you’re looking for good food, big portions and a tasty pub meal - this is the place to visit! I also want to say a massive thank you to Danny and Carter - without you both the party would not have been possible. Thank you for supplying the music, good selection of alcoholic beverages , popping up our decorations and for putting a smile on our faces throughout the night! Everyone who attended had a fabulous time and we will all be back again soon! Thank you ☺️

A wonderful meal with a great welcome from the Manager (Joanne, I think her name was) The burger was very tasty but the Nepalese chicken was second to none. Presentation was perfect and the taste was unbelievable….will definitely return soon.

We were staying at a local B&B and the owner mentioned the Boat Inn as a good place to eat so we ate there both nights. First night I had Scampi and my wife the fish and chips and portions were a good size, hot and tasty. On the second night we both had steak, but had to opt for the bigger sized steak as they had run out of the 8oz and 10oz which is what we would have went for as we don’t eat big portions. My wife likes her steak medium to well done and when it came it was medium I would say as still quite pink but she said rather than ask for it to be done little more she would eat it ok. I like mines medium rare and I would say mines was perfect. Because we had to have the larger steak we didn’t eat the chips or veg, just the onion rings and mushrooms. A little grisly but not too bad and again hot and tasty. I would go back when we are next in this area as all in all it’s good food and not too expensive considering what you are served.
