JJoseph WilliamFantastic hotel with polite, attentive staff. The view from the room is really nice and the hotel has a nice tranquil feel to it. Outside the hotel there's a few restaurants, bubble tea shops and a convenience store.
The room was very clean, with a comfortable bed and big bath. The mini fridge was restocked daily with sparkling water, Costa coffee and beer.
The breakfast was very tasty and although it was a set menu, there's plenty of choice and the menu was rotated between two options so you didn't end up with the same breakfast daily.
There's clothes washing facilities on site with complimentary detergent and softener, which is great for us (we like to travel light).
Overall a 5/5. If I had to be picky, my only issue is that I never did work out how to open the voice controlled curtains.

SSKR and famBest service ever! And so serene and gorgeous. The hotel is truly an oasis. Nestled on the edge of a little village. Roosters woke me in the morning. Beds were comfy. They even had Japanese techs toilets. Highly recommend for any ages! Families very welcome there.

The location is excellent; turn right upon exiting, and you're at Tangyuan, which is considered a scenic spot in Xichang! A taxi ride to Jianchang Ancient City costs ten yuan. Jianchang Ancient City has historical sites, but it's largely commercialized.
To the left and right of the hotel, you'll find shops and restaurants, offering various rice noodles and beef stalls.
There's a local beef restaurant to the right when you step out. The food is delicious, portions are generous, and the 'Wanwan Beef' (beef in bowls) is particularly good. The 'twice-cooked pork' is actually beef, and it's very fragrant! Other dishes are also worth trying.
The hotel lobby is shared with Starway Hotel. Xinhai Building houses several hotels, including a Ji Hotel, with other establishments on the first, second, third, and fourth floors.
Xinhai International occupies three floors, and the dining area is on the 8th floor. The breakfast variety is average, with not many dishes. The rice noodles are decent, but the restaurant isn't very large.
Overall, its geographical advantage and convenient surroundings are a big plus.
Xichang isn't very big anyway, and Qionghai Lake is practically the only major attraction.
Also, in Daban Village, there's Lingying Temple, a rare temple in China that integrates Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism. The buildings inside have some age to them.

AAnonymous UserI came to Xichang with my friends. The hotel is very new. We booked a superior twin bed. The front desk lady helped us upgrade it for free and gave us two breakfast coupons. The hotel is a smart hotel. Xiaodu greeted us as soon as we entered the door. As soon as we entered the room, we saw that it was very large and spacious, especially the bathroom was bigger. It was also very quiet at night and it was very comfortable to stay! The location is very good, just above Wanda, and it is very convenient to reach Jianchang Ancient City, Qionghai Park, and see the jacaranda trees. I will stay here again next time!

2232279****The location is convenient. The bus station to the high-speed rail and Qionghai is right outside the door. It is within walking distance to Jianchang Ancient City. There is a food court in Dada Spring Department Store 500 meters away. The room is spacious and has two bathrooms. It is suitable for a family of four with older children. The decoration is newer. The breakfast is acceptable and the price is reasonable during non-holidays. The disadvantage is poor sound insulation. One night, I was unable to sleep due to the noise from someone playing mahjong all night upstairs. I suggest you adjust the layout of the room and separate the mahjong room.

AAylasoulThis was my second night at this hotel. Lovely stay. Please read my initial review for proper feedback of the property. Great communication from the owner. Having booked the second night separately the code was changed and I was not informed, so I couldn’t get back inside smoothly, but on contacting the owner, I received an immediate response with a new code which is great. Being an international traveller, a few days ago I did not have a mobile number here which means this could have been a concern for me as I would have been unable to contact the owner on the go and did not know the code would be changed to ask in advance. I’m sure the owner upon reading this will consider this and improve it for future guests that book last minute like me :) All great and I would stay again :)
