This is a very homely inn run by a family. It is close to the express bus stop and public baths, and within walking distance of the Zao Ropeway. I don't ski because my kids are small, but I enjoyed walking around in the snow using this as my base. The meals were all delicious, with warm flavors made from local ingredients. We were also able to sample some of the local specialties, such as imoni and tama konnyaku. The families at the hostel were all very friendly and I felt that they really valued the relationships they had with other people. It was very comfortable.
