Gokan No Yu Tsuruya

Gokan No Yu Tsuruya

Yamagata
I usually stay at Zao International Hotel, but I couldn't make a reservation this time, so I tried to make this inn with a relatively high evaluation. As for Zao International Hotel, I have written a review many times in the past. In comparison with the hotel, I will write the impression of this inn. 1. Location It is in front of the bus terminal and is a convenient place to come by bus. It is also suitable for a joint bath. However, if you are skiing, you need to take a bus to the ropeway mountain foot station or walk through the hot spring town with a board. In this respect, it is located on a high level a little far from the hot spring town and is more convenient to Zao International Hotel, which is almost directly connected to the genre. 2. facilities It is a quite large inn, but it is a building with a year. However, the inside is clean. The front desk is on the first floor. From the entrance to the outside, you will get down another floor. Also, to go upstairs from the fourth floor, you need to change the elevator. It's a bit troublesome to often go out and out from the upper floor. Zao International Hotel also has multiple buildings, and the entrance and exit are quite walkable at 1 places, so both are the same in this respect. The rooms are renovated neatly and nothing is wrong. However, you can't enjoy the luxurious construction and view, such as Zao International Hotel Minami Kan. 3. Hot spring The large bath with open-air bath is not bad, but the facilities around the water are deteriorating a little. It is not possible to deteriorate rapidly due to the influence of hydrogen sulfide gas, but it seems to be better to put your hand in soon. The open-air bath is small. The bathroom facilities are not enemy to Zao International Hotel, including 4 rental baths. However, the use situation of hot springs was a little better than Zao International Hotel, which did not have any water from the source in the hot spring, and was pulling hot water using the natural slope. 4. Meals I think both inn tastes more than average. However, the tsuruya sukiyaki tare felt too little 々 sweet for us. Also, I was a little worried that I would not eat until I finished eating when I cooked. Zao International Hotel was better in these respects. 5. Customer service Everyone was polite and the front desk was also good. I wrote it again in the review of Zao International Hotel, but Zao International Hotel has a number of employees at the front desk who are in a terrible mine. The management, who left it alone, was really negligent, because they were just responding to the guests and they were slashing the overall hotel rating. It is an iron rule to stay comfortably at Zao International Hotel that does not approach the front desk as much as possible and checks carefully before paying. In this respect, it is a victory of vines. (It may be accurate that Zao International Hotel is too bad.)

The second stop came to the Tibetan King Hot Spring in Yamagata County, and stayed in two hotels. This one has a free open-air style. 📍 Location: Located 15 minutes away from the bus stop, located on the top of the mountain, you can make an appointment for the hotel car to pick up and drop off to Yamagata Station, but we completely forgot, there is no appointment, we push our luggage up the mountain to the physical and mental fatigue 😩! 🤵🏻 Service: I wanted to store my luggage when I checked out, but the staff insisted on picking up the group on the same day. I was afraid that there was no vacancy and I didn't want to 😒. I annoyed for a few minutes and gave up. Although I had a good attitude, ☹️ I felt that I couldn't do small things. 🏠 Room: One night double room with breakfast HKD898.41 + JPY300 ( Hot Spring Tax) Advantages: The room is big enough, using tatami floor ☺️, and has already made a bed, set up a separate bathroom 🚽, no need to share, the decoration is traditional Japanese style and wind design. The hotel has an elevator 🛗, you don't need to carry your luggage upstairs. The hotel lobby is spacious and comfortable, with a small shop selling hand letter, and you can rest and stroll after soaking in the hot spring ♨️. Disadvantages: There is only one elevator 🛗, it takes time to wait, no more. ♨️ Hot spring: 😍 The female soup is big enough, there is an indoor and outdoor soup, the outdoor soup is thinner, and it can only accommodate four people. Fortunately, only me and my family were there, so I could book the venue, and the spring water was milky white, filled with a strong sulfur taste, also known as ”beauty hot spring” 🤩, soaking really felt good skin.

Zao Shiki No Hotel

We arrived at Mt Zao in the middle of Our Epic Six Week Trip To Japan, during which we stayed in nine different hotels. This room was amongst my favourites. The staff largely didn't speak English and were not helpful. We had a stand off at the restaurant as we didn't understand that we couldn't dine at there without having made a booking far in advance. After this was explained,  there was no apology or suggestions for alternative dining options. There are limited dining options in Zao. We ate at the Soup Curry place one night and a cute sushi joint another night. On the last night we ended up getting an ebiken bento box from the local L****ns as nothing was open. We did book breakfast each morning and that was fantastic. Lots of Japanese and Western options and it seemed like the food had all been prepared onsite. The hotel is very pretty, with a lovely view of the forest from the lobby. There is a common room with free coffee, tea and ice creams. People were pretty friendly in there. The hotel is the furthest from the 'town' but the closest to the ski lift and to the 'sulfurous' onsen. The ski lift is about 50 metres from the hotel and the ride up and down is spectacular. I thought the onsen was top notch. The sulfurous onsen outside has milky water that is supposed to be good for your complexion. It was fun having an onsen with snow all around. We stayed in the Western style room - it was spacious and well appointed. Our little lounge area had a beautiful view of pine trees and lots of snow. There was also a similar view from the luxurious bath tub (but I didn't use that tub as the onsen was so good.) The beds in our room were very hard. Our room also had a massage chair which I used for hours a time. It was a bit of a trek getting to Mt Zao. The hotel staff weren't very helpful with organising buses but they did drop us off at the bus stop early in the morning and we were picked up on our day of arrival. I know that the staff weren't friendly to us because of the language barrier, which is a shame because everyone should enjoy this venue. I would stay here again for sure. Next time we'll book the dinner set. It did smell amazing ! --

The location is a bit far from the gondola station. Close to the slopes, suitable for skiing. Good quality for breakfast and dinner. Japanese-style rooms are relatively small. Shuttle service is good. Suitable for family travel.

The service was very good. Although I knew beforehand that the hotel staff could call us to the Zao bus station to drive us to the hotel. The hotel staff picked me up with my name tag, Still moved. It also picked us up for free to other attractions in Zao. The hotel's catering service was great and the hot spring facilities were good. Although the hotel's equipment looks a bit old, it matches the theme of the snow scene and its own hot spring hotel, but it has a unique flavor. On the day I left, I missed some items in the room. I left Yamagata at that time, so I emailed the hotel, and the hotel quickly delivered my leftover items to my next hotel. thank you very much!
Yamagata Eki Nishiguchi Washington Hotel

It was a hotel directly connected to Yamagata Station. The weather was good on the day I stayed, the mountain 々 was clear at dusk, and I was able to see a beautiful moon at night. If you walk in front of the station, there are restaurants and supermarkets, so I think it's not troublesome to stay. There was also a convenience store on the 1 floor. I would like to take care of you again when you go to Yamagata.
Zao Kokusai Hotel

I liked the old fashioned design of the onsen. Before dinner it was extremely crowded so we waited 30 minutes and had the onsen public bath to ourselves. The outdoor onsen rotemburo were very refreshing. The room with beds was very spacious. And the snacks and fruit plate were very welcoming. The relaxation chair was special! No kids under 3 years old allowed and no restaurant on site (order half board) which might be a problem. With ski-in/ski-out facilities. We walked to the ropeway 5 minutes. There's a nice onsen foot-bath too. Dinner was plentiful, very attractive with Yonezawa brand beef. Also the Imo NI Potato Stew was very good.
Takamiya Hotel Lucent

We stayed for 2 nights with two couples from June 18. The room was a large room of 30 square meters of Japanese bed on the 3 floor, and there were 2 elevators, convenient, old and weak feet. Dinner was delicious for two days with a great kaiseki dish with a good appearance and a variety of ingredients. The hot springs were in the inner bath and the open air, respectively, with a milky white bath with a rich sulfur fragrance. I was able to use it in a cheap plan, but I want to take care of it again next time.
