Airports in Paris
There are a total of three airports in Paris: Charles de Gaulle (CDG), Orly, and Beauvais. Located to the north-east of Paris, CDG is the city’s major international airport, while Orly is located to the south and is also still well connected to the city centre. Paris Beauvais airport is located quite far north but is a popular choice for budget airlines.

How to reach the city centre from the airport
From Charles de Gaulle Airport, you can get to the centre of Paris in about 30 minutes by taking the RER B train. They run every 10 minutes and stop at all the major stations in Paris, including Paris Gare du Nord. One-way tickets cost just 10€ and can be bought at ticket booths in the arrivals terminal.
To get from Orly to the centre of Paris, hop on the Orlyval metro and head to the Anthony Train Station, then change to lines RER B or RER C. Tickets will set you back around 12.10€ (£10.50) and the journey takes about an hour.
The furthest airport from Paris city centre is Beauvais. If you’re arriving here and want to get downtown, you can hop on a bus or grab a taxi, but we suggest you take the TER 19 train (as it’s a great way to beat the Paris traffic); with tickets priced at just 14.50€ (£12.55), this 2-hour journey is the cheapest option available.
Getting around the city
Paris is a modern and well-connected city, so you should have no trouble getting around. As mentioned above, the Paris Regional RER train will take you from the airport to most stations around the city. The city bus network is also pretty reliable, while the Paris Tramway and Montmartre Funicular offer other options for travel. Paris Metro is the cheapest way to get around, with services running every day from around 6am to 12.45am from Sunday to Thursday and 1.45am on Fridays and Saturdays.
