Hotels in Gezhou Dam/West Dam, Yichang

What a great little place, located in one of the riverfront sections of Yichang. Staff was nice, and it was very clean and quiet. Pictured is a super nice tea section near the window. There was also a book bar and breakfast restaurant on the first floor, although I unfortunately didn't have a chance to check it out. Highly recommended!

Pros: comfortable bed, good location, good air cond probably Cons: i am sorry, what a filthy dirty hotel, from people smoking in the lobby, to the filthy lobby, full of cigarette smell, carpets coming off the floor, floor not vacuumed, lobby and room. My room smelt so bad with cigarette smell I was coughing all night! Couldn’t wait to get out the filthy place! Not sure where all the positive reviews comes from, room was cheap but you expect a clean room at least!

This hotel is definitely one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in! From the lobby to the room, every detail shows luxury and taste. The room is spacious and bright, and the view outside the floor-to-ceiling window is beautiful. The bathroom is equipped with high-end toiletries and a bathtub. The hotel service is impeccable, and every staff is professional and thoughtful. Miaomiao at the front desk is particularly attentive, and highly recommended to travelers who pursue quality!

The hotel is very satisfactory overall. It is located in a very tall building. The lobby is elegantly decorated. There are many dolls that children like very much. The children can't walk. The check-out platform provides tourist maps and red date tea, which is warm. The front desk is warm and thoughtful.

Due to the night club on the 2nd floor, the lifts sometimes you may get a strong smoke smell. The night club entrance is exposed to passengers if the lift door is open, the night club environment is not suitable for children to see if you travel with family. Facilities are old but clean, good location. Housekeeping teams are good, but the front desk needs more training. Overall, Ramada CBD is still a good choice if you are looking for international chains with certain service standards.

The receptionists were very helpful even though the majority of us couldn’t speak Chinese. It would be helpful having a friend who can speak Chinese, but translate works too. The views were pretty nice as you can see and there are two nice elephant statues outside. The beds were clean, the shower was good, although the door didn’t seal properly and flooded the floor if you weren’t careful. Breakfast was buffet style and had a nice selection of Chinese food but nothing extraordinary. A few minutes taxi or 15 minute bike ride to the three gorges visitor centre if you want to do the cruise.
