The transportation of the hotel is very convenient. It only takes five minutes to go to Hakata Station by subway. It was nice to be able to experience a traditional Japanese house and use the hot spring family bath, and dinner was chicken delivered from a nearby restaurant, which was light and suited our taste. Breakfast was simple, like Japanese home cooking.
Early in the morning (before sunrise), we were able to go see the water mist of Kinrinko Lake, which is less than 5 minutes away, but it was too bad that we couldn't see the thick water mist because it was cold, but overall, I was satisfied with the one-night stay at Yufuin Onsen Village on this trip.

A great hotel, a first choice for a relaxing vacation, especially for family travel, but there are also areas that need improvement, and I hope it can be improved.
Facilities: Duplex apartment, living room, dining room, washroom and bathroom on the first floor, bedroom, bathroom and small living room on the second floor, both floors have balconies. The facilities are complete, enough for the daily life of a family, all pots and utensils are available, and there are baths and hot springs. This is enough for a five-star review, and it is recommended to bring a bath bag.
Environment: Located in a residential area about 300 meters away from Yufuin Street, it takes about 20 minutes to walk to the station. It should be much more convenient to drive by car with a spacious parking lot. You can overlook Yufudake from the balcony, and you can look up at the stars at night. I believe that it is also a good experience to cool off in summer and watch the snow in winter.
Service: What needs to be improved is that the check-in location is not at the apartment, but there is no advance reminder. When you arrive at the door of the apartment, you will know that you still need to walk a distance to check in and then return, which will make people unhappy for passengers walking from the station. In addition, you donāt need to check out, but the check-out time is 10:00 in the morning, which is a little early. If time permits, it is recommended to enjoy a relaxing vacation for 2-3 days.

The rooms at this ryokan are very spacious and clean. There is no separate shower booth in the room, but there is a sink, and among the three baths on the first floor, the single room (one) has a high turnover rate, so it was not very inconvenient. There was an English-speaking staff, and they were very kind, which was nice. You can check the availability of the open-air hot spring bath on the first floor through a tablet PC in your room and go down to use it. The breakfast buffet, which mainly serves Japanese home-cooked meals, is also excellent. After eating, I recommend taking a walk along the stream in front of the ryokan. If you go to Yufuin, I would definitely recommend this accommodation. The ryokan pub is closed on Wednesdays and Thursdays, and dinner may be closed if you arrive late, so please check in advance.

I personally think the location is very good, without the noise of the tourist area. It's only a 5-10 minute walk to Jinlin Lake or the shopping street.
The service can be said to be first-class. In Japan, it is rare for staff to take passengers to the room or even introduce each area and facility, but here we do it! They can speak English so foreign tourists are taken care of.
The most worthwhile thing is that each room has a private bath (not sure if it is hot spring water), or you can go to the shared hot spring and enjoy it as long as no other guests are using it. Overall, it was a very satisfying experience and the hotel was very comfortable. If you're celebrating a holiday or anniversary, I think it's worth a splurge.

This was the best accommodation during my entire trip to Beppu and Yufuin. The staff took care of the guests in a delicate way without being burdensome. The breakfast overlooking Mt. The location of the hotel is relatively remote, but the hotel provides pick-up and drop-off from Yufuin Station. The hotel has less than ten rooms. It is very quiet at night. The public hot spring is basically private. There is a public private bath. The family can take a bath together. The female generals are not very good in English, but very enthusiastic , This hotel has not many reviews, but it is highly recommended

My friend and I stay at this hotel for 3nights. Ā The hotel is very clean and staff were friendly. We very enjoyed Ā onsen there. The hotel breakfast was pretty good but It would be more better if they change like typeA & typeB every single day. We had to have same breakfast for the first 2days.Ā

This is a very cost-effective ryokan!! I stayed for 2 days, and check-in was done early if there was an empty room, and the outdoor bath was good. Above all, the morning and evening kaiseki was much better than I expected, and the menus for the first and second days were all different. However, if you don't turn on the stove in the room, it gets very cold... It turns off every three hours, so you have to keep turning it on, and make sure the fuel tank is full. I hope you sleep well...

Outstanding
PPriscillaWe had a great 2 nights stay at this Ryokan. Location was near Yufuin Floral Village, and around 20 mins walk from Yufuin JR station. It was a nice walk to Yufuin JR station as there were many shops and eateries that you can visit along the way. Alternatively, there is also bus 36 from Yufuin but terminal that would stop near to the ryokan.
The staff were really outstanding, friendly and helpful. When we arrived, a couple of them rushed to help us with our luggage and to also shelter us from the rain. During the entire stay, they made us feel very welcomed.
The Western/Japanese room that we booked was very spacious and had all the amenities we required. Note that this is a 2 storey living area - level 1 had a bathroom with private indoor and outdoor onsen as well as the living room, while level 2 had a toilet (w/o bath) and 1 western bedroom as well as 1 Japanese bedroom.
There are 4 public onsen in the ryokan. 2 for female and 2 for male. They would rotate it during the day and night to allow everyone to try out the different onsen.
We also had our breakfast and dinner at the ryokan as part of the package. The dishes were different on both days. The spread was huge and food tasted great. Note that there are very few places open at Yufuin during dinner time.
RRoyston NgLocated in a quaint little town which is about 1.5km away from Yufuin Station. Everything was perfect about this little Onsen Hotel/Inn and the food was beyond words could describe!
The only downside was to get to and fro the hotel from Yufuin Station. Taxi will set you back „800 per way. Bus will only take you about 750m and you got to walk the rest of the distance upslope to the hotel.
On the day of departure from the hotel, we pre-arranged a taxi to pick my wife and I up at 8.40am for our 9.07am train to Kumamoto and we were only informed that all taxi bookings were full at 8am.
My wife and I had a hasty but tasty breakfast before making our way downslope, onto the Main Street to Yufuin Station. An early morning Route March some would call it. š
Thank you Yuhri for giving us the best of your service and the private Onsen was more than perfect too!
66617The hotel is very beautiful, the room is also very big, and I booked a private bath, which is really enjoyable. The most surprising thing is the dinner. I thought it was just a set meal, but it turned out to be very rich, similar to Kaiseki cuisine, with not only various sashimi but also small hot pot, Wagyu barbecue, desserts, etc. I was really full at the end of the meal, and I felt that the room price was instantly halved. Haha. The Japanese breakfast the next day was also very good.
Disadvantages: The transportation and life around the hotel are really inconvenient, and you can only choose hotel dining. There is not even a convenience store at the door. The hotel waiters are a bit short of staff and there is often no one at the front desk. The heating facilities in the lobby are open flames. Although you can't touch the fire inside, the shelves outside are hot, and children are prone to accidental injuries. This is especially important.
Our room with a private bath is on the third floor, there is no elevator, and you need to carry your luggage up the mountain by yourself. If there is no man with you, it will be really tiring.
This hotel has about 30 rooms, which is relatively large in Yufuin. The location is a distance away from Yufuin Railway Station. If you have a lot of luggage, it is recommended to take a taxi. We walked for about 20+ minutes to get there, mainly because the suitcases are not easy to push on the way up the mountain.
GGuest UserFantastic accommodation. There's 5 onsen that you can try out during your stay. Food is really good with free flow alcohol for dinner. Really sweet of the staff to prepare snacks and a complimentary Polaroid shot when you check out. Everything is just so comfortable and fuss-free.
GGuest UserGreat food, nice room and very professional services. Easily walkable from the station and has 5 onsens so plenty for the guests to take turn dipping in the glorious bath.
SSame Raksa DangIt sounds like you had an amazing experience at that hostel! Here's a slightly polished version of your review:
If you're looking for a budget-friendly hostel with a warm and welcoming atmosphere, this is the place to be. The owner couple is incredibly friendly and makes you feel at home right away. I was greeted by a new roommate and the owner even took us on a night tour to Kinrin Lake and Floral Village, which was such a lovely surprise. The breakfast is absolutely delicious, and the coupleās romantic gesture of singing a beautiful thank-you song before you leave just adds a special touch. Their voices are stunning, and it truly makes you want to return
SSpirit_stoneVery nice well kept traditional ryokan. If you are expecting modern do not stay here. Hotels like these are older and have been around for many years but are well maintained.
I love sleeping on tatami - I slept for 10 hours!
Unfortunately I felt a bit dumbfounded when the dinner included is just ramen. On the trip.com photos there are two photos of meals and I assumed one was dinner and the other breakfast. Maybe this use to be the case but trip/ the hotel should specify better what is being served. Especially in small towns there arenāt many dinner options - there is an Aeon (supermarket) a short walk of course if youād like a bento dinner instead.
Also no wifi in the room. As an international traveler I had to up my esim data for the day. They donāt advertise wifi in the room - they have it in the lobby so it wouldnāt be hard to get an extender to the rooms.
The onsen was nice however I found the outside onsen made a lot of noise- Iāve been to many onsen and this was the first that ever made noise from the filter so it wasnāt as relaxing as it could have been.
Overall decent stay but probably wouldnāt go back
GGuest UserThe waiter at the hot spring hotel is very attentive. After arriving at the hotel, the waiter will lead you to the room where you are staying. The waiter will explain the hotel facilities in detail, including the opening hours of the outdoor hot spring, meal arrangements, etc. Bob, the waiter who received us, spoke very fluent English, was attentive to arrangements, and had a friendly smile, which made people feel very relaxed and natural. The waiters here understand Mandarin and have no problem communicating. The room I booked this time is equipped with an independent bath, which is semi-open-air. You can see the outdoor scenery. The water quality and temperature are very good, and it feels very good. In addition to enjoying the hot spring in my room, I also soaked in the public hot spring in the hotel. There is an outdoor and an indoor hot spring. There are time limits. Although the hot spring is not too big and can accommodate 6 people each, there was no one during the time I soaked. Maybe Letās all enjoy the bath in the room. However, I recommend that you book a room with an independent hot spring bath, because you can soak in the hot spring at any time. There are not many rooms here, and they are highly private, so you can enjoy a peaceful a**osphere. I booked a stay with two meals. This meal is mainly fish. In addition to raw fish and grilled fish, friends who like to eat fish should not miss it.
AAnonymous UserThe accommodation is beautiful, the surrounding atmosphere is good, and there is an onsen hot spring to soak in. The food is delicious. **But what I am not very impressed with is the control of other service providers. Mostly, 99% on the day I stayed were Koreans who were not very polite. They did not know even the etiquette and rules of using the public hot spring. I am not sure if the owner of the accommodation has informed the rules of using the hot spring, which is something I cannot accept. They were loud, threw the earbuds on the floor, and were not orderly. They also wore shoes in the common area of the dressing room in the hot spring. I was very disappointed. It was a rather disappointing vacation, even though it should have been a good day for me. I lost the mood to soak in the atmosphere. I did not even have the heart to take pictures of the atmosphere with the accommodation.
