I recently stayed at Le Méridien Zhongshan and unfortunately, my experience did not meet the standards expected from a Le Méridien property. The hotel shows clear signs of aging, and the upkeep is lacking in several areas.
Room Condition:
The room itself was spacious but had noticeable maintenance issues. The pillowcase had a visible stain, and the shower cabinet had dirt and grime buildup, which was disappointing for a hotel of this brand. The overall cleanliness could definitely be improved.
Executive Lounge Service and breakfast:
As a frequent guest of different properties in the Greater Bay Area, I found the executive lounge service here to be below par. The staff seemed less attentive compared to other locations, and the food and beverage selection was underwhelming.
Location & Other Facilities:
The hotel’s location is convenient, and the building has a classic charm, but the lack of proper maintenance and inconsistent service detracts from the experience.
Conclusion:
While the stay wasn’t terrible, I expected better from a Le Méridien. If the management invests in refurbishment and staff training, this hotel could be much more competitive. For now, I would recommend considering other options in the area unless significant improvements are made.

Hotel location is very convenient, there're shopping malls nearby. I've booked 2 rooms and one of the rooms has been upgraded to suite, very spacious and comfy. The variety for breakfast was great but the time to re-fill was slow, always a long queue for just a coffee cup.

Improvements needed on some areas in the hotel room: smell retained in the toilet after use; water leaked from the floor of the bath area during shower to the area outside, need to wipe the floor after usage or else will be slippery; not enough waiters to serve during the breakfast buffet

The room was clean and spacious and just few steps away from a few malls. Kids have enjoyed the bath tube in the room. The breakfast service could have been better and up to the marriott standards. Unlike usual hotels, guests must wear a swim cap otherwise they are not allowed to use the pool. 20rmb each if you need to purchase on the spot.

The room toilet is very smelly. The swimming pool water is quite cold and the changing room is no towel available. The changing room of the swimming pool is also smelly.
