Dongjiang Lake Zixi Rusi Cultural Hotel

The itinerary was basic, but the hotel was anything but. We stayed at a truly elegant hotel on the other side of the Xiaodong River. I pondered for a long time what words to describe it. It had a wabi-sabi feel, yet the details were human and warm. It had a traditional style, yet the rooms reflected a technological and modern aesthetic. Finally, I realized this might be the "quality" we were looking for. It's said that the owner had previously worked as a teacher, then achieved financial independence by starting a tech company. In his 50s, he built a hotel, freed from worldly scrutiny and able to design and operate it to his own taste. In the evening, I sat in the lounge, enjoying a rich cocktail, listening to the graceful guzheng music, and observing the beautiful young women. All my emotional wrinkles were smoothed out, leaving behind a stable core. Not only the food and accommodation, but also the hotel's cultural experience programs were thoughtfully curated. The hotel also has its own dock with direct access to the Xiaodong River Visitor Center on the other side. Riding on a bamboo raft, the river breeze caressed my face, making me feel that life is beautiful and life is precious.

The hotel's overall environment is very nice, making it convenient for children. The exterior is also very playful for children, making for great photos and check-in times. The overall artistic atmosphere is quite strong, and the hotel receptionists are also very polite. The restaurant's food is also good. The dining experience is reasonable. The Xiaodongjiang Tourism Reception Center is across from the hotel, making it convenient for visiting tourist attractions. The rooms are very clean and well-equipped, with a modern and sophisticated feel. The children didn't want to go home after staying here. If the price is acceptable, this is highly recommended.

I spent four days in Dongjiang Lake, staying in B&Bs for a few days before finally settling into Zixi Rusi, arguably the only high-quality hotel nearby. It's a nice hotel, with an elegant ambiance and all other aspects exceeding five-star standards. The entire hotel is steeped in cultural heritage. Some complaints: 1. The rooftop pool is too small. 2. The breakfast selection is limited and average (perhaps Cantonese people are more discerning). 3. The room is relatively new and has a strong odor. I needed to turn on the exhaust and air conditioning for a while beforehand, but it's fine.

This is a great choice for a trip to Xiaodongjiang. The hotel's underground parking lot is well-built, with charging stations in each space, making it a pleasant driving experience. The design of the public areas reflects the hotel's overall high quality. The restaurant is also very nice, and the breakfast noodles are delicious. We checked in late, and the staff were very friendly.

Staying at the hotel for a day makes you want to skip the trip! The hotel is incredibly thoughtful, offering recommendations for nearby attractions, including travel time, activities, and dining options. You can even come without a travel guide. Every staff member is incredibly professional and personalizes their service, going beyond a one-size-fits-all approach. This creates a warm and inviting atmosphere. The hotel's cultural experiences are incredibly immersive and full of a sense of ceremony. It would be great if the hotel offered travel photography services! The overall decor is stylish and perfect for sharing photos, but most families traveling with their boyfriends aren't great at taking photos.

My first visit to Dongjiang Lake was in June. I spotted a beautiful building across from the scenic area and, curious enough, went to check it out. It had been renovated but wasn't open yet. This time, I happened to have the opportunity to visit Xiaodongjiang again with my family. I saw this hotel on the hotel list and booked it without hesitation. Overall, my stay was excellent and exceeded my expectations. 1. Cleanliness: This new hotel was spotless, with no signs of wear and tear. The room was odorless, and they even provided an air purifier. 2. Aesthetics: The hotel is located on the banks of the Dongjiang River, offering a breathtaking view of the lake and distant mountains. The ground floor and outdoor areas are also well-designed, perfect for relaxing and taking photos, creating a unique scene with every step. Furthermore, the large public areas, including the lobby bar and swimming pool, offer minimal traffic and a high degree of privacy. During my entire stay, I rarely encountered other guests. 3. Service: Excellent, with requests addressed promptly. 4. Activities: There are activities like Song Dynasty tea tasting and river boat rides, perfect for families. 5. Food: Since we only have 40-50 guests per day, the breakfast area is relatively small and the selection is limited, but the quality is acceptable. The meat dishes and freshly squeezed juices are standard for a hotel. 6. Some details, like the balcony bathtub and the children's care kits, are also nice. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel and will return.
