"The hygiene was extremely poor. First, the tabletop wasn't wiped at all. There was some unidentified substance on the bed, and the sheets were dirty and covered in dust, which felt like human body dust. After contacting the front desk, they changed my room. However, the tabletop in the second room was also covered in dust. It was truly terrifying. When I entered the room, the air conditioning was extremely cold, and the power card was still plugged in. I don't know if someone had been resting there before I arrived. After changing me to the second room, the air conditioning wasn't turned on. Oh, and there was no water in the first room… it felt like it had been drunk. I will never come back. The pictures I posted show the tabletops and sheets in two different rooms; they were all dirty. They were all dirty. I didn't ask for a third room because the front desk staff was quite nice, and I didn't want to make things difficult for them, but it was truly unacceptable, especially the second picture. Was someone picking their feet on the bed?"

The soundproofing was poor; around midnight, music could be clearly heard coming from the hallway and outside the room. Communicating with the owner was difficult, as I couldn't understand their dialect. I strongly suggest you don't come here; you might want to consider staying at your neighbor's place instead!"

"I came to Dongjiang Lake for a trip and chose this one near the scenic spot. The experience is very good. The location is very good, very close to Xiaodongjiang, it is especially convenient to come over after watching the morning mist. The dishes are authentic Xiangwei, live water fish must be tried, freshly made, the meat is fine and tender; the fried chicken with tea oil is very aromatic. The price is reasonable, and there is no imagined situation around the scenic spot. The store was cleaned up, and the boss also enthusiastically told us the best time period to see the fog, and there were niche check-in points. It is rare to meet this kind of store when you travel. I will visit it next time and recommend it to friends who come to play."

"The environment is absolutely lovely, very cozy, and a truly charming B&B. It's incredibly close to Xiaodongjiang, just a few minutes' walk away. We stayed for two nights with our kids and didn't want to leave. The owner is super nice; we'd booked a single-bed room, but seeing that it was two adults and two children, they upgraded us to a two-bedroom apartment for free. It meant my sister could get some proper rest too!"

"The itinerary was basic, but the hotel was anything but. We stayed at a truly elegant hotel on the other side of the Xiaodong River. I pondered for a long time what words to describe it. It had a wabi-sabi feel, yet the details were human and warm. It had a traditional style, yet the rooms reflected a technological and modern aesthetic. Finally, I realized this might be the "quality" we were looking for. It's said that the owner had previously worked as a teacher, then achieved financial independence by starting a tech company. In his 50s, he built a hotel, freed from worldly scrutiny and able to design and operate it to his own taste. In the evening, I sat in the lounge, enjoying a rich cocktail, listening to the graceful guzheng music, and observing the beautiful young women. All my emotional wrinkles were smoothed out, leaving behind a stable core. Not only the food and accommodation, but also the hotel's cultural experience programs were thoughtfully curated. The hotel also has its own dock with direct access to the Xiaodong River Visitor Center on the other side. Riding on a bamboo raft, the river breeze caressed my face, making me feel that life is beautiful and life is precious."

"The service was decent for a guesthouse, but its location was quite remote. Aside from the guesthouse itself, the surrounding amenities on the island were very poor; there were virtually no options for food, drinks, or entertainment. Furthermore, the guesthouse itself needed further improvement. Hygiene was generally acceptable, but attention to detail was needed; some nooks and crannies weren't cleaned properly, such as betel nut residue under the sofa. The facilities were also only moderately maintained. One small suggestion: the bathroom floor wasn't slip-resistant; improvement is recommended."

"I mentioned I'd arrive late at night, and thinking there were plenty of rooms available, and since other hotels hadn't raised their prices by 100, I asked if I could get an upgrade. They flatly refused, saying no one would be there that night and I needed to add them on WeChat. They said the room key was left at the front desk and I'd retrieve it myself, without considering security or whether someone else would take it. When I arrived late at night, I found the side door closed and wouldn't open. I texted saying the door was wrong and wouldn't open, and tried calling and voice messages, but no one answered. I thought I'd have to sleep on the street, but after searching for a while, I found there were two doors and managed to get the key through the other one. After checking in, the owner messaged me, saying, "You're already in!" I said, "You gave me the wrong location; there are two doors. You should have made that clear." The response was, "That's how it's always done; there's no problem." So, it's all my fault? I was utterly speechless with anger. When I got to the room to shower, the water was cold. I didn't even want to mention it to the owner; any further discussion would be torture. I checked out early the next morning and gave her the room key. She didn't look at me the entire time, nor did she say anything about whether I had a good stay or if I'd like to come back again. Well, this was the first time I'd had such an unpleasant accommodation experience."

I booked several rooms, and each one was tastefully decorated, with the host's thoughtful touches evident in every corner. The bedding was soft, clean, and subtly scented. The shampoo was great, and they even provided laundry detergent! The disposable toiletries were plentiful and hygienic. The soaking tub was incredibly relaxing, and I slept soundly all night in the quiet. What touched me most was the thoughtfulness of the receptionist, who sent me a guide to the surrounding area beforehand, recommending affordable and delicious private restaurants. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm here, and I've already recommended it to my friends!"

"The room was nice, the guesthouse's decor was beautiful, and the windows were large. The view from the window was truly captivating. Overall, the stay was quite pleasant. However… as a newly opened guesthouse, the renovation smell was still very strong. Air purifiers were placed in the rooms and hallways to remove the odor, and the hallway was heavily scented. I initially thought the strong smell was normal for a new establishment, but when I went out to do laundry that evening, I discovered that the guesthouse hadn't even finished renovations before opening. The doors to several rooms further in were open, and the bedding, furniture, and other items were all in disarray and very dark. I was quite scared and only glanced at them before leaving without taking any photos. I guess my boyfriend and I were the only unfortunate guests that day. The price was high, it absorbed formaldehyde, and it opened before the renovations were even complete – it's outrageous! The guesthouse owner was too eager to cash in, disregarding the health of their customers."

My lake-view room offered stunning lake scenery right outside the window. I could wake up to the picturesque misty Dongjiang in the morning, and every photo I took was postcard-perfect. The room was spotless, and the bedding and bathroom facilities were high-quality, showing attention to detail everywhere. The concierge service was incredibly thoughtful; they arranged parking in advance and even provided a detailed travel guide. Enjoying a cup of tea on the guesthouse lawn, feeling the lake breeze, and watching the sparkling water was so relaxing I didn't want to leave. This guesthouse absolutely enhanced my Dongjiang Lake experience. Highly recommended!"
