If you plan to go to Amsterdam and like beer this is place for you. Heineken experience it is a museum of Heineken beer. It is housed inside Heineken's very first built brewery, which served as the company's primary brewing facility from 1867 until 1988. It is open Sunday through Thursday from 10:30 AM to 7:30 PM (last entry at 5:15 PM). On Fridays and Saturdays, it operates with extended hours from 10:30 AM to 9:00 PM (last entry at 6:45 PM). What’s to expect: Nice and unusual entrance ceiling, all in old green glass bottles. This is first thing that you will see when you enter (you can see it on the attached photos)!!! You can buy tickets there or via web site. I was there as a special guest, so we had lady who guided us during the tour. During excursion you will hear and see history of Heineken brand in details. Will see old ways of creating beer. Will see different historical artefacts. Will know 5 key ingredients that make Heineken beer so special. Will have ability to taste it as standard tickets include a brief tasting session to learn how to properly taste a Heineken. It’s not far from city centre. When you finish you can take a convenient walk where you can see a lot of canals. Amsterdam often called the "Venice of the North" because of it. Amsterdam and Heineken museum waits you!!! However, you don’t need to spend a small fortune to enjoy your stay. Taking advantage of free attractions allows you to keep costs down, but where do you start? If you’ve never been to the city, you may feel overwhelmed. FREE THINGS TO DO IN AMSTERDAM 1 | ADMIRE VIEWS OF THE DAMRAK Just a stone’s throw away from Central Station, checking out The Damrak is one of the top things to do in Amsterdam city centre. As one of the main streets in the city, it runs from the train station to Dam Square. 2 | CHECK OUT DAM SQUARE About 5-10 minutes away on foot, Dam Square is a must-see while visiting Amsterdam. Although you’ll find several attractions such as the Royal Palace, Madame Tussauds and the New Church, these are paid attractions. 3 | GO FOR A STROLL The beauty of Amsterdam lies within its charming streets. Go for a wander with no destination in mind. That might sound weird, but there are so many lovely corners of the city. Do I regret that? Absolutely! Located (pretty much) across the road from Museum Van Loon and Foam Photography Museum, it’s easy to visit if you have a jam-packed itinerary. 6 | WATCH THE SUNSET FROM NEMO SCIENCE MUSEUM There are lots of lovely viewpoints in Amsterdam, but one of the best places to watch the sunset has to be Nemo Science Museum. Although the museum itself isn’t free, their rooftop terrace is. 7 | GO ON AN INSTAGRAM MISSION We all want nice holiday snaps to look back on and Amsterdam might just be one of the most photogenic cities in the world. 8 | TAKE IN THE VIBES OF THE RED LIGHT DISTRICT If you’re looking for free things to do in Amsterdam at night, exploring the Red Light District is one of the top activities. While the attractions themselves aren’t free, you can check out their exteriors free of charge. 14 | VISIT THE RIJKSMUSEUM GARDEN Also in Museumplein, the Rijksmuseum garden is a nature lovers’ dream. This is especially true during spring and summer when the space comes to life with a colourful selection of lovely flowers. However, it’s nice to visit at any time of year. 15 | HIT UP AMSTERDAM PUBLIC LIBRARY Amsterdam Public Library is a must-see for book enthusiasts. This modern space houses thousands of titles to enjoy for free during your visit. However, you don’t need to be a book fan to hit up the library. If you’re looking for free viewpoints, this is the place to be. You can see unobstructed views of the city from the terrace. How cool is that? 16 | TAKE THE FERRY TO NOORD Leaving from the back of Central Station, the free ferry to Noord offers one of the best views in the city. As you cruise across the water, you can check out the Eye Film Museum, This Is Holland and A’Dam Tower. 17 | DISCOVER UNIQUE ART AT NDSM LOODS When it comes to free attractions in Amsterdam, NDSM Loods is one of the top spots if you’re into art. Located in the Noord neighbourhood, this old shipyard is one of the city’s best hidden gems. 18 | SEE COLOURFUL STREET ART AT NDSM WHARF Afterwards, head outside to enjoy a large selection of colourful street art. The most famous is Eduardo Kobra’s Anne Frank mural and it’s not hard to see why. It’s an impressively creative tribute to this brave teen. 19 | JOIN A TOUR OF GASSAN DIAMONDS Gassan Diamonds is one of the most well-known diamond companies in Amsterdam. If you have an interest in all things sparkly, they’re worth visiting during your trip to the Dutch capital. Located inside a 19th-century building, there are daily free tours inside the factory. After learning more about diamonds and Gassan’s work process, you can see their large collection of watches and jewellery. 20 | TAKE ADVANTAGE OF FREE FESTIVALS AND EVENTS With many festivals and events taking place throughout the year, it’s no wonder Amsterdam receives millions of tourists. Amsterdam boasts a fabulous market scene loved by both locals and tourists alike. 23 | VISIT FREE CHURCHES There are many outstanding churches in Amsterdam and while some are paid attractions, others are free to visit. 24 | DISCOVER BEGIJNHOF COURTYARD If you’re searching for hidden gems, Begijnhof courtyard is a must-see. Tucked away a short walk away from the Damrak (AKA one of the main streets in the city), many visitors will miss this spot during their trip. However, Begijnhof is an amazing courtyard that is seeped in history. Back in the day, this lovely spot was home to a group of Christian women who made a vow to chastity. These days, the courtyard still houses two religious buildings including the chapel and the reformed church. 25 | WANDER AROUND VRIJE UNIVERSITY BOTANICAL GARDEN Hortus Botanicus is well worth a visit, but it’s a paid attraction. If you fancy admiring florals and greenery without spending a dime, head to Vrije University Botanical Garden. It’s a serene place to escape the chaos of city life. 26 | ADVENTURE AROUND AMSTERDAM FOREST For something a bit different, venture out to Amsterdam Forest. If you like being out in nature, this is the place for you. Twenty minutes away from Museumplein via public transport, it’s worlds apart from the chaos of the city centre. 27 | TAKE IN SOME RAYS ON AMSTERDAM BEACH I bet the beach isn’t the first thing you think of when you head to Amsterdam. However, you can easily reach the seaside in less than an hour. If the sun is shining, visiting the beach is a great way to spend the day. There are several beaches nearby such as Zandvoort, IJmuiden and Bloemendaal. Wijk Aan Zee is a little further if you’re travelling by public transport, but it’s a blissful spot if you don’t mind the journey. 28 | SEE THE ARTIS ZOO FLAMINGOS ON ARTISPLEIN If you like animals but don’t fancy paying €26.50 (if booked online) to get into Artis Zoo, you can see the flamingos free of charge. Nearby restaurant De Plantage has an outdoor terrace and if you enter through the side gate, you can walk to the end to see the iconic pink creatures. It’s also a highly-rated restaurant so it’s worth booking a table if you fancy some delicious food. 29 | VISIT MELKWEG EXPO PHOTO EXHIBITION Do you love photography as much as I do? 🇳🇱 I only stayed in the Netherlands for three days, visiting Amsterdam, the LEGO town, and the windmill town. 1️⃣ First is Amsterdam, a small city perfect for city walks. I think the two museums right next to each other are the most worth visiting and can be combined. I really enjoy visiting museums, spent a whole day there, and it wasn’t too tiring. Next is the Anne Frank House. Having read Anne’s diary as a child, I was very eager to visit this little house, but you need to book well in advance (I didn’t plan properly). Also, there’s the 🔴 Red Light District, where you can watch shows for about 60 euros. Finally, there are boat tours and the flower market. 2️⃣ You must also visit the LEGO town and the windmill town. These two towns are on the same line. You can buy a ticket directly to the windmill town and get off at Zaandam to reach the LEGO town. The LEGO town takes less than an hour to explore; it’s very small, so no need to worry about time.

The entrance is deliberately understated, a members'-club discretion about it, as though the hotel prefers its pleasures unannounced. We approved immediately. Inside, TwentySeven commits fully to the seduction. Dark woods, deep jewel tones, the kind of lighting that makes everyone look like the best version of themselves. My wife — who has an unerring eye for beautiful things — ran her hand along the bar and said nothing, which meant everything. We discovered this sea of flowers during our second trip to the flower fields near Lisse, on the outskirts of Amsterdam, Netherlands! Arriving here at sunset, we were amazed by the endless tulip fields stretching for several kilometers! Each color block is vast, with red and orange-yellow flowers with red stamens glowing like a fiery sea of flowers 🧚‍♀️ extending to the horizon under the sunset! It’s like Van Gogh’s "Sunflowers," burning with the passionate golden hues of life 🔥, vividly displayed before our eyes! 🌷 This area is a gathering spot for European RV enthusiasts, with RVs from France and Italy parked along the river. We saw many families with big dogs, some picnicking by the fields, others rowing boats along the river, or playing in the flower fields. Such a relaxing vacation vibe~ I even played with a bunch of kids and big dogs for a while~ 🌷 The flower fields can be accessed from two directions. The side with the RVs along the river leads to the red and orange-yellow flower sea, while the other side, behind the larger flower field, features multicolored flowers in white and magenta blooming beautifully. I’ve marked the flower field location in photo 9; you can see it’s not far from Keukenhof Park. 🌷 🌟 A few reminders: 1. Tulips have a blooming period, and the condition should be good for about a week and a half. 2.
