It was a weekend getaway trip to Las Casas and Antipolo, Philippines. Looking back to the future movie but it’s the Philippines version 100’s years ago! The place is very historical way back Spanish Period. Entering Las Casas you’ll feel the very old vibe of Manila when every staff is wearing barong and barotsaya, riding kalesa and eating authentic Filipino/Spanish food. I recommend going to Las Casas a bit pricy but it’s worth it! I saw a beautiful review of a Spanish-style town in Clark, Philippines, from an online influencer, and the flight to the Philippines was very cheap (only a little over 6,000 NTD on EVA Air), so I flew there. Turns out it was a complete scam. I expected the hotel to be old and run-down, but I didn't expect it to be so dirty and chaotic, with huge cockroaches. I was so scared from having to get up to pee in the middle of the night that I couldn't sleep all night. Then, the blankets and pillows were damp and had a musty smell. We asked the staff to change them twice, but it was still the same… Bringing outside food is prohibited in the park, and they even confiscated the alcohol we bought at the airport (thankfully it was returned the next day). However, the restaurants inside the park are incredibly slow to serve food. We ordered both alcohol and food; at least bring the liquor first! We waited 30 minutes before they told us they didn't have the liquor we ordered, and then another 30 minutes… We waited a whole hour to eat and drink! It was infuriating; hungry people are easily angered 😤 Next, the more bizarre part: one of our friends, who has never sleepwalked before, actually did! The beach was just a 10-minute walk from our room—I really don't want to think about the consequences… The whole park feels like some abandoned, low-end museum; it has absolutely no Spanish feel. The Filipino Hotel Acus Saras Casas was the most beautiful place on this trip. Every photo I took looked like a painting. The scenery was picturesque, as if I had traveled through time. Strolling around and relaxing there was incredibly chill. The staff were also very welcoming. It was a very comfortable vacation, and a great place for people of all ages to visit.
