The two lakes have different shades—one Tiffany blue, the other peacock blue. The balcony faces Höhematte Park, a huge lawn area. Lying in bed, you can see the three peaks of the Jungfrau region. I screamed the moment I opened the curtains in the morning! 🚂 Best way to get around Tested and proven! You must buy the Swiss Travel Pass. Four days cost about 280 CHF (latest price for 2026). You get 25% off Jungfrau tickets, free rides to Harder Kulm viewing platform, and unlimited lake cruises! Download the SBB Mobile app—it shows real-time train schedules and lets you buy tickets. Brienz, online, its popularity and recognition are far less than Lungern. There's no excessive commercialization here, nor endless crowds of tourists checking in, but it's precisely this undisturbed tranquility and comfort that makes me love this place. The waters of Lake Brienz are a clear blue-green. Mountain reflections shimmer on the lake's surface. The way the mountains and water blend together is more captivating than any deliberately crafted scenery. This place is truly small, so small that you don't need any itinerary or guide. No need to rush your schedule, no need to search for photo spots; just wander aimlessly through the streets and alleys, and everywhere you look is a beautiful view. As a stopover, we didn't have much time for Brienz. Most of the time, we stayed on our hotel room's balcony, quietly admiring the lake and mountain scenery outside the window. The view from the hotel window alone was stunning enough. If you have time, you can stroll along the lakeside promenade. You can clearly see the distant snow-capped mountains, and it's so quiet you can hear the wind and the gentle lapping of the lake water. There aren't many restaurant options in the small town, and Switzerland is also notoriously known for its unappetizing food. Seeing a pizza place with decent reviews felt like a lifesaver 🍕. Although the price wasn't cheap, 24 Swiss Francs for one, the taste truly exceeded expectations. 🏨 Hotel Recommendation Hotel Lindenhof by Crossworld AG I recommend rooms with a balcony; open the window to a stunning lake view, directly facing Lake Brienz, and you can also see the continuous snow-capped mountains in the distance.
