One can simply walk around the lake like I did, which is about 7km in distance, visit the nearby village after traipsing across fields of colourful sheep and drink a pint of local lager. Highly recommended!

Battermere is located in the northwest of the lake district, 4 miles from Honister Pass and 9 miles from Keswick. Because it is located between Battermere Lake and Crummock Water, the terrain here is like a bowl-shaped basin. You can walk to the lake and enjoy the famous Haystacks mountain, and there are also suitable circular hiking trails around. Accommodation resources in this area are limited. Hikers can stay at youth hostels or stone houses by the Batmir Lake. Camping at the campsite is also a good option.
